Infrastructure and facilities
The Campus is built over 25 acres of prime land set in the idyllic environs of Meerut U.P. Ideally located and is a safe haven of lush greenery, pollution free, with plenty of fresh air, conducive to a student life. The campus has the uniqueness of many majestic buildings, well-maintained playgrounds along with supporting facilities. It has been planned, designed and constructed to address broader issues that relate to resource and energy conservation.
Hostel:
- The college has well-equipped Boys and Girls Hostel facilities with excellent infrastructure.
- Female Resident Warden for the Girls and Male Resident Warden for the Boys hostel take good care of the students.
- Echoing the same architectural language of the main building the Hostel combines the modern design sensibility of less is more with a fresh interpretation of traditional concepts of the inner courtyard to allow a natural circulation of light and air.
- The Hostel is equipped with well-furnished, spacious and well-ventilated rooms for every student, designed to provide an environment with a home away from home.
- Each floor has been provided with an adequate number of conveniently located toilets and bathrooms with hot water facility.
- Round the clock security, standby generator facility, gymnasium, health club, Indoor games are some of the noteworthy features that aim to make students stay as comfortable as could be.
- The common room in each hostel caters to recreational facilities like T.V. and Newspapers etc.
- Affiliated to a hospital, students will have quick access to a 24-hour medical facility.
Library:
- Kalka Dental College Library was set up in the year 2008 and has since been upgraded with the latest of all information catering to the needs of all specialities of dentistry.
- The Central Library is housed in a well-furnished, illuminated and covering about 8000 sq.ft. of area with a seating capacity of more than 250 students.
- Separate enclosures are provided for staff and students with internet facility and audio-visual aids.
- The undergraduate section is separated from the post-graduate' section respecting their separate needs for space and concentration required.
- It has more than books related to medical and dental sciences.
- The library subscribe to a large number of foreign and national journals in dentistry.
- It works from early morning till late in the evening with attached Internet cafe having photocopier and scanners.
- The student has the opportunity of browsing the internet from 9 am to 5 pm.
Auditorium:
- The college also has an auditorium for various cultural events, meetings, inter-college events and Continuing Dental Education programmes
Cafeteria:
- Well maintained canteen in the campus provide the students with a variety of cuisines
Mobile Dental Van:
- A state of the art Mobile Dental Unit (MDU) was commissioned by the Department of public health dentistry in order to take dentistry to the doorsteps of the community.
- Since its inception, the MDU has travelled thousands of miles across the city and at times even into adjacent cities providing integrated oral health care to the community.
- The MDU of the department has two dental chairs with an aerator, scaler and a light cure unit as accessories.
- It has a power generator and an air compressor.
- It has facilities for health education through audio-visual aids.
- It can reach out to distant places providing preventive and curative services to all sections of the society with special focus on oppressed, downtrodden and disadvantaged population of the community.
