JRRSU was set up in 2001 exclusively to cater to expanding and building a solid foundation for the education of Sanskrit and related fields. Currently, Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Rajasthan Sanskrit University offers only limited courses. Thus, they can maintain the quality of courses over the years. Students have expressed satisfaction with the courses they enrol in on various social media platforms.

Students who get admission to JRRSU are interested in profoundly pursuing their subject of interest. It is one of the few universities in the state that offers courses on yoga, Ved, Jyotish, etc. Hence, there is quite a demand for admission. Furthermore, since there are no entrance exams for admission, the number of students submitting admission forms is relatively higher. 

In terms of academics, JRRSU is doing well. However, other areas, such as infrastructure, need improvement. The campus area is relatively small compared to other public colleges, and it causes students much trouble.

Quality Education

JRRSU, as mentioned earlier, provides courses pertaining to mostly Sanskrit and its related fields. Currently, it offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and Diploma courses. The popular courses are B.Ed and M.Ed. It is also one of the state's most sought-after colleges for a degree in education. The admission process is based on the marks obtained in the last qualifying examination. However, the semester exams are challenging. Students often study for an extended period to pass the semester exams. 

The course curriculums are well-structured to provide the necessary outcome. The curriculum follows all the guidelines set up. Students are content with courses and the way they are taught.

Inexpensive Course Fees

JRRSU, being a government university, has set very inexpensive fees. This has massively benefitted many students, who can pursue the courses and obtain degrees. For instance, the cost for pursuing a BA and B.Sc is INR 36,000 for 3 years, while for an MA and M.Sc is INR 30,000 for 2 years. Furthermore, students can also avail themselves of various scholarships and government grants to lower course fees.

Knowledgeable Faculties

One of the primary reasons students choose to study at Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Rajasthan Sanskrit University, Jaipur, is because of its professors. The faculty members are highly qualified and helpful towards the students. In case of academic doubts, students are confident in approaching their professors to resolve any doubts.

The professors blend traditional and new teaching methods to make the lectures interesting. Since most students are interested in employment opportunities after graduation, the teachers often mould the lectures to meet such requirements.

Paucity of Infrastructure

While JRRSU has got its academics right, it has yet to get its infrastructural facilities to that mark. However, that being said, the university covers basic facilities and is well-maintained. The central crisis lies in expanding its infrastructure development. Students often face hindrances concerning this. The classrooms are moderately spacious and built in a traditional style. It does not have many features of modern classrooms, such as projectors, etc.

There is a well-functioning computer lab that students can use for their study or research purposes. In addition to this, the library is well stocked with different books, magazines, research papers, etc. Students find the library very useful. 

Students face a lot of difficulty regarding internet connectivity and sports facilities. The internet connectivity could be more stable, and only a handful of sports opportunities are available due to cramped campus space. The campus also has a canteen facility that provides nutritious food at reasonable prices. The security on the campus is fairly good, making everyone safe and secure.

Agreeable Hostel Facilities

JRRSU offers hostel facilities for men and women. The rooms are available for sharing and contain basic amenities such as chairs, tables, beds, etc. The hostel premises are kept clean and hygienic. It is also very safe and secure and has strict security vigilance. Only a few rules and regulations need to be followed inside the hostel.

However, hostel life could be less entertaining than many other hostels. Students can also opt to stay outside on various paying guest options available in the city. The students can choose them at their convenience and at their own price.

Poor Placement Record

JRRSU needs a better placement record. Although it provides very few training programs for placement, the management committee has yet to be able to apprise many companies to visit the campus for recruitment. Only a few people get placed. They receive packages below the industry standards. The highest package received around INR 3.9 LPA, while the median package remained at INR 2.4 LPA.

Uneventful Campus Life

There is not much campus life that can be enjoyed at JRRSU. Not many cultural or sports festivals are celebrated. Daily, students can only engage in a few sports and NSS. Moreover, no diversity can be observed among the students as they are mainly from the state itself. However, students from various communities can be seen inside the state itself.

There are no particular rules about attendance policy. It is not strictly followed, And there are not many campus rules and regulations that need to be followed. In addition to this, students do not abide by any dress code or uniform. However, the students are expected to dress modestly.

Is JRRSU Worth it?

For students from the state of Rajasthan who are interested in pursuing subjects like Sanskrit or Education, JRRSU offers decent academic facilities. The faculties are well qualified and possess the necessary knowledge to impart good education. In addition, the course fees are nominal, so students from various backgrounds can afford to study here.

However, if the students are looking for a wholesome campus life with an all-around approach, then there might be better choices than JRRSU. While the university may provide a good education, it severely lacks infrastructural development and placement opportunities.
