Hislop College is one of the oldest colleges in Nagpur, it was founded in 1883. The college was affiliated to the University of Calcutta until 1904, and later to Allahabad University. In 1923 it was one of six colleges affiliated to the University of Nagpur, which is now known as Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University. The college was named after the Scottish missionary Stephen Hislop who worked closely with Robert Hunter in the Vidarbha region. The college campus is spread across more than 7.5 acres of land in Nagpur.

Admission to the various courses offered at Hislop College is conducted online. All applicants are required to register through the university or the college. The application fee is based on the Hislop College fee structure. 

• Applicants should first register themselves on the college website. They should create a student profile. 
• The student should fill in all personal details including address, academic details, etc. 
• The necessary documents should be scanned in color and uploaded where prompted. 
• The undertaking should be signed by both the student and the parents.
