GSFC University was established in Gujarat and is a centre of academic brilliance renowned for its dedication. On one side, it has the best infrastructure, faculty and vibrant campus life for students, and on the other hand, it offers sub-par placements and an expensive fee structure. 

Beyond the classroom, GSFC University promotes a culture of research and innovation, enabling students to achieve success in their chosen industries. However, the looming question remains- is it worth the money?

Multitude of Courses

The GSFC University offers a variety of courses for aspiring candidates. It offers a range of possibilities for students’ dreams, starting from technology to business management and research opportunities.

These courses are made to adjust to the changing needs of the world and give students the most recent information, abilities, and practical knowledge. The university has emphasised building skill sets in classrooms in order for students to succeed in their chosen professions.

Friendly Faculty

The faculty at GSFC University are good, friendly and skilled in their profession. The professors are renowned for being helpful to the students. The faculty is known to bring a lot to the table due to their highly skilled techniques, education, etc. Most of the professors at GSFC University have a Ph.D. in their subject.

The syllabus of the university is set according to the Indian education standard with some minor changes. For some students, it is extremely beneficial in preparing for employment in the industry. 

The difficulty of the exams in the university varies accordingly for the students, but mostly, it is considered to be easy. The pass mark for the exams is 33%. The percentage of students who pass the exams at this university is 80%. The drawback for the university is that 75% minimum attendance for a student is mandatory.

Gigantic Campus with Rich Infrastructure

The infrastructure of the GSFC University is good. The institution provides students with all facilities. The structures are extremely well-designed and include amenities like a gym, labs, computer labs, transportation, libraries, etc. The university campus is big, and each branch has its own block. There are 3 buildings inside the campus, which are:

• SOS: School of Science
• SOT: School of Technology
• SOM: School of Management

The classrooms at the university are almost perfect. The classrooms are big, with lots of space, accommodating a high number of students with ease. Each classroom has projectors and speakers for a better learning experience. The campus has a well-maintained computer lab. 

The library at GSFC University has been made to make it a symbol of knowledge, offering a diverse collection of books and resources ranging from various courses. The book collection at GSFC University is top-notch.

The environment of the library is good, and a staff member can always be called in to help. The library has biometric scanning, and the students can use the library till midnight. This is very helpful for some students who stay in hostels or live nearby. The Wi-Fi in the library had usable speed. 

The canteen at GSFC University caters to the diverse tastes of the student community at the University. The quality of food offered in GSFC is very good, and students are comfortable with the cleanliness maintained inside the canteen by the staff members.

GSFC University arranges a wide range of games and sports events and encourages students to participate in a wide variety of extracurricular activities. In particular, sports play a big part in the institution. Students have plenty of opportunity to engage in physical activities, but unfortunately, not a lot of facilities has been provided for different sports like, Basketball court, Volleyball court, and Gym.

Costly Program Fees

At GSFC University, the regular programme fees are not as affordable and inclusive compared to the other renowned colleges and institutions in Gujarat. Although the university guarantees that students get a top-notch education and have access to superb facilities, knowledgeable faculty, and a supportive learning environment, these fees are unfortunately not able to support a lot of students' dreams and goals for many of the basic courses.

Scholarships

The scholarships provided by GSFC University are barely enough. The student who is a ‘gold medalist’ of the branch receives an annual scholarship worth INR 3000, which covers barely anything.

The GSFC University must provide scholarships and other forms of financial aid in order to assist all kinds of students in their academic endeavours. The university must highlight its commitment to providing extraordinary value in education, which is not so well demonstrated by its costly fee structure and low scholarship opportunities.

Spacious Hostel Facilities

GSFC University has boys' and girls' hostels separately, and accommodations are very good for the students. The hostel rooms are spacious, with natural lighting and proper ventilation. Each room has an attached toilet, washroom, study table, chair, and bed. The campus has strong WiFi connectivity. The candidates are also provided with hot water inside the hostels.

Although the facilities are top-notch, the fees for the hostel and lodging per semester are a bit expensive. The hostel fees at the GSFC University are given below:

Various paying guest options are also available nearby the university. These PGs have basic and standard amenities available at reasonable rates.

Cherishable Campus Life

GSFC University boasts a vibrant campus life characterised by a constant flurry of events and festivities held throughout the year. Events are conducted in the GSFC University frequently, and there are many clubs in the college that the students can join. The clubs organise various certificate courses free of cost, for example, Google GDSC. The courses are provided so that the students learn new things outside the curriculum.

GSFC University’s endeavours to cultivate a sense of belonging and comfort for its diverse student body, offering a home away from home. Celebrations of various festivals such as Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri, Janmashtami, and many more are woven into the fabric of the University so that candidates from diverse cultural backgrounds feel embraced.

The university does not follow a strict dress code or uniform. The students can wear as per their wish. The college also does not impose any stringent rules and regulations. However, respectful behaviour and basic rules are to be observed.

Even though GSFC University admits students from all over the country, students mainly take admission from its home state. However, the college has put efforts in making the college as diverse as possible. The university also follows reservation policy as per the government norms.

Moderate Placement Rates

The placements in the GSFC University are average. The top recruiting companies are Byju's, GSFC, Reliance, Nirma, etc. The institution provides internship opportunities for the candidates each semester. Around 70-75% of students get selected for the internships in the third year. The average package offered is INR 4.8 LPA. Given the amount the students invest on the courses, the university should strive to negotiate better placement packages with the companies.

Is GSFC University Worth It?

Overall, selecting GSFC University is based on each candidate. The candidates must keep in mind all the advantages and disadvantages. One of the drawback of the university is it sub-par placements. The university also does not provide much in terms of sports facilities.
