Facilities :-

Library

The college is a ‘Golden Treasury’ in the form of a rich library with almost 63,022 Books, 57 National and International Journals and a number of magazines and newspapers. The library runs on the SOUL software. Study material in Braille is made available for visually- challenged students. Library is equipped with computers and printers. The library is equipped with N-list journals. Free Internet access and Xerox facility is available.

The newly built huge reading room attached to the library is an added advantage with a display of periodicals, newspapers and magazines to the teachers and students of this institution. A separate space is provided for research scholars and differently-abled.

The library is kept open on all working days from 10.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.

Hostel

Entering through the large metal gate of the college campus, one is drawn towards four hostel buildings bordered by trees and plants. Since 1962, the hostel has served as the second home for the girls of this tribal state. The hostel environment has successfully brought together the traditional tribal culture of rural Chhattisgarh with the modern scientific temper of urban India.

The hostels of this premier institution offer excellent opportunities for the over-all development of students. Hostellers have also excelled in NCC, NSS, Sports, and Literary and Cultural activities.

Students are given admissions on the merit basis.

To accommodate 600 students, following facilities are available.

1. Sufficient number of rooms.
2. Prayer, Recreation, Yoga and activity hall.
3. Well maintained, airy and well-lit kitchen with a huge dining hall.
4. Facility of a small library with reading room having a number of English and Hindi news papers and magazines.
5. Health care facilities.
6. A huge play ground for outdoor games like hockey, cricket, football, basket-ball, volley-ball, kho-kho, kabaddi etc.
7. Indoor games facilities have also been provided such as badminton court, table-tennis, carrom, chess etc.
8. Wi fi facility, DLP projector, T.V., VCR and sound system available in the hostel.

Principal is the patron of the hostel. Warden, assistant warden and matron assist her. A hostel management committee of senior professors has been formed to ensure proper management of the hostel.

Laboratories

The college has well-equipped laboratories for science, home-science and arts faculty i.e., dietetics laboratory, a food science and quality control laboratory , three computer labs, a Biotechnology Lab with automated and Hi- tech tissue culture laboratory, instrumentation laboratory, English language laboratory etc. 

Sports

The college has an excellent track record of sports activities. Organisation of inter college, inter district and state level tournaments is a regular feature. Regular coaching camps are organised. The students of this college regularly participate in inter-sector, inter-university and state-level tournaments. Both indoor and outdoor games facilities are available.

NSS/NCC

National Cadet Corps was started in this college in 1962. At present total 160 girl cadets have been enrolled in two units.

Our students regularly represent the college in Republic day parade at New Delhi on 26 January every year. Some have been selected for YOUTH EXCHANGE PROGRAMME. Besides the regular activities, the cadets are involved in social programmes like pulse polio, blood donation, eye donation, literacy, SSB Training Programme, tree plantation, environment protection etc.

The cadets of this college have been selected for the Indian army and are serving the nation.

The college has two units of National Service Scheme. The students enrolled in NSS have to attend a minimum of 120 service hours during the year. In all, 199 students are enrolled for this scheme.

Under NSS two major activities are performed

1. Regular activities
2. Special camps like Voter awareness programme, bone density camp are organized.

ICT Resources

In order to keep pace with the changing trends in higher education, latest ICT resources like computer, internet, SOUL software have been installed. College is a member of MSDN Academic Alliance. Wi-Fi facility is available in the campus. Online college network facility is provided. Unified Threat Management (UTM) firewall has been installed Online lecture notes, test and e-magazine ‘RIPPLES’ is available on the college network which provides a platform to the students and staff of the college to upgrade and share their knowledge. e-journal has also been launched. All departments are equipped with computer, printer, DLP etc.
