The City College of Commerce and Business Administration Kolkata West Bengal is one of the nine institutions under Brahmo Samaj. It was established in 1939. It was formally organized in 1945. It is affiliated to the University of Calcutta since 1961. It is a major institution in Kolkata which imparts education in the field of Commerce.
The college provides well-qualified and professional faculties to cater to the queries of the students. It provides good infrastructure facilities to the students. It offers general and honours in commerce. The total number of seats allotted is 900 out of which 750 are for the honours students and 150 for the general course students. Accounting & Finance
The college library has a large collection of books, journals, and magazines that are accessible by the students and faculties. The college book store provides the students with the necessary texts and reference books at a nominal price. The college canteen offers nutritious food at a nominal rate. It also provides health care facilities.
The college has computer labs. It has virtual classrooms. The CCCBA facilities include water coolers, power generators, and fire extinguishers. It provides clean drinking water.
The students' Union of the college is responsible for organizing various activities. It conducts various awareness camps. The college publishes magazines every year which gives students an opportunity to exhibit their literary skills. It also organizes various cultural events throughout the year. It celebrates all the major days. It has a music band that participates in inter and intra college fests.
The NSS wing of the college actively conducts and organizes various activities. They conduct health camps, awareness programmes, cultural activities for the slum people, etc. The NCC wing of the college provides training to the cadets in weapon handling, drills, microlight flying, etc. They also attend various national camps and conducts social activities.
The college conducts various seminars and counselling classes to make the students industry-ready. It also helps the students to clear their doubts about the opportunities and helps them in choosing their future path. The CCCBA placement cell invites companies for campus recruitment. The major recruiters that visit the campus are TCS, IBM, Wipro, etc.

The chalan or receipt can be downloaded and the fees should be paid t the bank. The list of selected candidates will be published on the website. The fees should be paid at the time of admission.

classes are conducted from the afternoon. Timing is 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Teaching quality is good. I really like the teachers over here. Faculties for economics and taxation department was my favorite. Faculties are interactive and supportive. My overall experience is good.
Student associations are there. We celebrate a number of festivals. One can play Cricket, Football, and basketball on the campuses. In general college life is good.
The college timing are morning, evening and afternoon, so you can choose that timing which is comfortable for you.
The main festivals are the cricket and hola. Very very interesting and enjoying.

The admission procedure is conducted online. Students are required to fill in the admission forms posted on the college website, procure and download the receipt/ chalan from there and submit the same at the bank designated for this act. The merit lists are prepared in the descending order on the basis of marks obtained and duly posted on the website following which the selected candidates deposit the admission fees in the bank, go to the college and get themselves admitted. In case of candidates willing to pay in cash, they have to generate chalans through the website and deposit the same in the bank. Those who prefer paying online through debit/credit cards, are alllowed payment through online access.The admission process continues on the basis of deadlines specified for different merit lists prepared as per the number of seats filled up. Accordingly, the number of lists depends on the vacancies remaining after the expiry of each deadline. The list of admitted candidates is received through MIS from the bank.
The college adheres to the admission criteria outlined by the University of Calcutta and fixes the cut-off marks accordingly.
Rules and Regulations :
i) The college has introduced Biometrics for the faculty and the staff of the college to maintain transparency in service. The procedure is followed both when the college hours start and the time when the college closes.
ii) In order to obviate overcrowding and chances of infiltration by unknown outsiders, the students are required to show identity cards at the gate.
iii) The college is an evening-session institution, but the office and the library open almost two hours before classes start. Students thus have the opportunity to avail of the extra time to study without missing the classes.
iv) In the event of absence of any teacher, the classes allotted to him/her are taken care of by some other teacher. In case no teacher from the respective department is present on a particular day, some other teacher is deputed to take his/her classes. This measure is adopted to keep students engaged, keep the academic ambience perfect and maintain discipline in the college.
v) The college follows the examination schedule prescribed by the university. It hosts Mid-term tests around November-December every year and the Test Examination around February-March. Besides, keeping in line with the practice adopted by the university, the college takes Supplementary Tests for candidates who have either fared badly in the college examination or have been unable to appear in the examination.
vi) Both the admission process and the process of filling in forms are conducted as per the rules, norms and time schedule prescribed by the university.
The tuition fees for the students taking up Honours as their course of study are Rs. 85/- per month while for those taking up the General course of study the fees are Rs. 65/- per month. At the time of admission, Course Fees (including Tuition Fees for 1 year)for Hons. candidates are fixed at 4,410/-, just as for the General Course students, it is fixed at 4,170/-.
