Even after many years after its inception, APSU has remained relatively the same. Its failing infrastructure, average academics, and poor placement record are a constant in its facade.

GetMyUni's Verdict on APSU

Apart from the fact that APSU is located in a green environment, everything else seems to be average. Established in 1968, Awadhesh Pratap Singh University is located in Rewa in Madhya Pradesh. Nothing much has changed after so many years since its inception. A sight that raises several concerns all at once.

The university is the sole state sponsor in the area. Hence, there is a considerable number of students who take admission each year. With such significance, the infrastructure of APSU needs an overhaul. Furthermore, students have also expressed their dissatisfaction with the faculty members on various online platforms.

Suppose one compares APSU with other state universities. The result will speak starkly of the fact that it does not fare well. To add to it, the college events arranged for the students are nil.

Traditional Courses

Apart from the fact that APSU is located in a green environment, everything else seems to be average. Established in 1968, Awadhesh Pratap Singh University is located in Rewa in Madhya Pradesh. Suppose one compares APSU with other state universities. The result will speak starkly of the fact that it does not fare well. To add to it, the college events arranged for the students are nil.

Affordable Course Fees

Being a state-government university, the course fees are very affordable. Some of the course fees for programs like MA and MSc are just INR 2250 per semester. While some professional courses like MBA can go up to INR 23,000 per semester.

Overall, compared to other private universities, the program fees are meager. This allows students from various economic backgrounds to be admitted to Awadhesh Pratap Singh University. The university also grants multiple scholarships based on the merit, social, and financial position of the candidates.

Standard Faculties

APU University's faculties, though well qualified, are not necessarily experts in their fields. Barring a few faculties, students are not reasonably satisfied with their teaching techniques. The faculty members need to use an innovative teaching pedagogy that would draw the attention of the students and ignite curiosity in their minds. As a result, the pupil's attention span drops significantly. These altogether result in monotonous lectures.

As more and more student's online organic reviews come to light, it is evident that the teachers, after a certain period, become irregular in their lectures. Either they are absent or are skipping topics. Either way harms the students' flow of studies. Such actions should immediately be addressed by the management.

In addition to this, many professors could be more friendly with the students. Such actions create a barrier between the student and teacher and result in many unresolved queries. From this, it can easily be deduced that the faculty needs more dedication towards their job.

Lacking Infrastructure

The absence of infrastructure at the Awadhesh Pratap Singh University is prominent. The classrooms are not equipped with smart classes or projectors. While some of the classrooms are spacious, others are cramped. Being a very old university, many of the buildings or structures are in almost dilapidated condition. Skimming through the reviews of the students, they have noted the need for laboratories and equipment.

Since many of the courses are in the field of science and technology, students can only study with practical experience. The theory will impart only half the required knowledge. There is also a need for more funding for the college. Hence, that is a hurdle in the way of infrastructural development.

APSU Campus

The campus overall is clean and hygienic. However, the same cannot be said for the equipment, laboratories, and other functional aspects. The APSU central library has a host of books stocked; it includes around 75,000 books with 100 seating capacity. Apart from the books, the library also has magazines, research papers, journals, etc.

The sports facilities are commendable as compared to the rest of the infrastructure. It includes track fields, basketball, football, cricket, volleyball ground, etc. In addition to this, the college also has a canteen, medical facilities, auditorium, guest house, etc. Since the university is located a bit far from the city, transportation facilities are available for the students. The university premises have security systems, making a safe and secure environment.

Good Hostel Facilities

Awadhesh Pratap Singh University has separate girls' and boys' hostels. These accommodation facilities for students have basic amenities for the student's requirements. However, there are limited seats for the students. Each department has specific seats allotted to them. Hence, students might face difficulty in availing them. There are no stringent rules or regulations for the hostel.

It is also safe and secure from within. However, they can opt from various paying guest options available in the vicinity of the college or in the central city. These PGs come with multiple budgets and amenities. The prices for such PGs are also reasonable.

Concerning Placement Record

APSU probably never had a good record for placements. Although in recent years it has made some improvements, they are not up to any mark. It has consistently failed to apprise top recruiters. However, few companies that come for campus placements do not offer any good salary packages. The compensation offered is as low as INR 2,00,000 per annum.

Little training and advice are given to boost the student's confidence. Many of the departments lack placement facilities as well. Thereby, the students' concern only increases.

Boring Campus Life

Nothing much is there to be said about the campus life. This is because APSU hardly arranges any cultural events for its students. There is no annual college festival that is arranged. Even though students can enroll themselves in a few student-led clubs, nothing much happens to them. They are not actively arranging exciting activities. Among all these, the sports departments are active in organizing various sports events.

APSU event

Students are also actively encouraged to participate in sports. Since it is a state university, students from particular Rewa and surrounding areas take admission to Awadhesh Pratap Singh University. In addition, there are no compulsory dress or uniforms, nor are there any strict rules or regulations. The only rule that the students need to adhere to is the 75% attendance criteria. Failing to achieve it might result in disciplinary actions against them.

Is APSU Worth it?

For students who find it difficult to afford to go to another city for better educational opportunities, APSU is good for them. This is because the course fees are relatively very affordable, and there is a plethora of course options to choose from.

However, they should also take into consideration the fact that it has average academics, poor placements, and monotonous campus life. It is highly thought of to talk to the present students and alumni to get a better picture of the Awadhesh Pratap Singh University before taking their final decision.
