NMIMS Chandigarh School of Technology Management’s (STME) Matrixx Technical Club and ACM chapter organized the ‘InnovateX Hackathon’, a first-ever- intra-college two-day hackathon in the college. Held under the guidance of Dr. Jyotsna Singh, Associate Dean, STME and Faculty fellow Dr. Jagpreet and Dr. Aditya Bakshi, the theme of the hackathon was ‘ Tech for Social Impact ’.
It was devoted to employing technology for positive social change and prompting scholars to bring out their creative capabilities to develop results that have a meaningful impact on society. The event brought together all STME scholars to unite, introduce, and develop prototypes of tech-driven results. The participating students worked on colorful problem statements similar as Health and Wellness Platform- Developing results to ameliorate access to healthcare services and promote well-being; a Navigation App for Blind People- Designing navigation aids to help visually bloodied individualities; a Fiscal Commission App-Casting digital platforms to promote fiscal knowledge and grease effective plutocrat operation; an Education Accessibility Portal- Creating tools to enhance availability and inclusivity in education, and Accessible Transportation results- Building systems to optimize transportation routes and enhance public conveyance availability.
The judges for the hackathon were sphere and specialized experts, Mr. Kundan Munjal, Chief Operating Officer, Zenmonk Technologies, Mohali, and Mr. Anoop Jain, CTO, and Enterprise mastermind, UCule Computing Pvt Ltd. (FIS), Mohali. Meanwhile, the student coordinator for the event was Mr. Agamjot Singh, Ms. Bhavya Jha, Mr. Anoop Gupta, and Mr. Manjot Singh.
The two-day rendering event saw 8 brigades of 5 members each presenting their ideas on one of the themes to instructors and judges. Through three rounds of evaluations of the hackathon, scholars empathized and defined their problems, and presented their results in front of judges in the form of live demonstrations.
On the concluding day, Mr. Munjal and Mr. Jain estimated the prototypes developed by the sharing groups. The judging criteria included aspects similar as invention, feasibility, impact, scalability, and donation quality of the ideas put forth by the scholars. Team 2 secured the first position for their Education Availability Platform. Led by Agamjot Singh Monga, the platoon comprised Manjot Singh Jolly, Aarushi Vashist, Sarisht Sharma, and Saksham Tripathi. Following nearly before, Team 4 settled the alternate position with their Finance operation Platform. Bhavya Jha led the platoon, which included members Raghav Yogi, Taranjot Singh, Ryan Kukreti, and Bhuvnesh Wadhwa. The unique prototypes presented at the hackathon saw a display of a range of innovative ideas and approaches and showed the scholars ’ fidelity to using technology for social good.
