NMIMS School of Business Management commences admission for its Post-Graduate Courses in Social Entrepreneurship

The NMIMS School of Business Management (SBM) has initiated admissions for its MBA (Part-Time) in Social Entrepreneurship (2 years) and Diploma in Social Entrepreneurship (1 year) programs. The MBA (Part-Time) in Social Entrepreneurship is a comprehensive two-year program designed for development sector professionals looking to excel in today's complex and competitive environment. It focuses on enhancing the sustainability of development organizations through innovative management strategies and socially beneficial entrepreneurial practices. The program aims to cultivate a holistic perspective on contemporary issues across for-profit, non-profit, and government sectors. NMIMS offers need-cum-merit-based scholarships of up to Rs. 150,000/- for this program, along with the Mirae Asset Foundation Scholarships, consisting of ten need cum merit-based scholarships of up to Rs. 100,000/- for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates.

The Diploma in Social Entrepreneurship is a one-year program providing managerial inputs for both seasoned professionals and newcomers in the social development sector. It seeks to enhance participants' effectiveness and efficiency in the social sector through refined management practices, financial planning, and developmental design skills.

Dr. Meena Galliara, Director of the Jasani Centre for Social Entrepreneurship & Sustainability Management, emphasized the center's aim to promote innovation and effectiveness in the social sector. Through consultancy, teaching, and experiential learning, the center fosters social entrepreneurship and sustainability. The program curriculum encourages a professional response to social concerns through critical thinking, capacity building, and entrepreneurship development. Students also have the opportunity to collaborate with NGOs, gaining practical knowledge essential for working in the social sector.

Dr. Satish M.K, Program Chairperson for MBA (Part-Time) Social Entrepreneurship, highlighted the significance of social entrepreneurship in driving societal change. He emphasized that the programs are designed not only to impart strategic orientation and a diverse social perspective but also to facilitate networking essential for success in the field of social entrepreneurship.

Eligibility Criteria: For MBA (Part-Time) in Social Entrepreneurship:

• Graduation from a recognized University in any discipline.
• Minimum two years of corporate/administrative/business work experience OR minimum two years of experience with social sector organizations (NGOs, Social Enterprises, Government Departments, CSR/Environment/Sustainability departments), either as full-time staff or volunteers up to the date of the written test/personal interview.

For Diploma in Social Entrepreneurship:

• Graduation from a recognized University in any discipline.
