Maharashtra DSE 2025 Tie Breaking

On occasions when two or more candidates score the same qualifying marks, the merit or rank allotted to them might be the same. In such cases, the tie-breaking policy is used to allot the ranks.

Maharashtra DSE 2025 CAP Counselling Process

Step 1: Registration and Fee Payment

The first step towards participating in the Maharashtra DSE counselling process is to register for the counselling. Candidates must fill out and submit the application form and submit to requisite fees to successfully register.

Step 2: Verification of Documents 

While registering for the counselling process, candidates have to upload all the necessary documents. The documents are then verified online by the exam authorities.

Step 3: Release of Merit List

After receiving all the applications, the authorities will allot ranks to the candidates based on the marks obtained in the Diploma or the last qualifying exam. The Maharastra DSE 2025 round 1 provisional merit list was released on July 29, 2025. 

Candidates could raise objections or point out discrepancies in the provisional merit list from July 30 - August 1, 2025. After careful consideration of the discrepancies, the final merit list was released on August 3, 2025. After round 1, the merit lists for rounds 2, 3, and the mop-up round will be announced.

Step 4: Release of Seat Matrix

Before releasing the merit list for each round, the seat matrix will be displayed. Candidates can refer to the seat matrix to understand the the allocation of seats. This will also help them in choosing their preferred seat or college in the next rounds.

Step 5: Choice Filling

After the release of the merit list, candidates will have to choose their preferred colleges and lock them. Candidates can refer to the seat matrix released to fill out their preferences. Candidates can fill up to 300 colleges or institutions. The allotment, however, will be based on the merit list.

Step 6: Seat Allotment

As per the choices and merit list, the exam authorities will then allocate the seats to various colleges. Next, they will then release the Maharashtra DSE admission 2025 seat allotment result. Candidates who have not been able to choose their seats as per their first preference will be allowed to participate in the subsequent rounds of CAP.

Firstly, the round 1 provisional seat allotment result will be released for direct second-year admission to various Engineering colleges.

Step 7: Seat Acceptance Fee and Reporting

After the seat allotment result is released, candidates have to pay a seat acceptance fee to lock their choices. They then have to report to their allotted colleges in the the specified dates along with the required documents. They also must pay the tuition fee after reporting to the concerned colleges.

Maharashtra DSE admission 2025 process follows the reservation policy as per the government norms. However, the reservation can only be availed by the Maharashtra domicile candidates.
