KCET 2025 Round 2 Counselling Process: Dates, Option Entry, Seat Allotment Result, Seat Acceptance Process

KCET Counselling takes place after the KCET results are released. KCET counselling consists of 3 rounds. If you have not been allotted a seat in round 1, there is a chance that you will be allotted a seat in round 2. The KCET Counselling is ongoing. After the round 1 counselling schedule concludes, the round 2 counselling will start. The round 2 counselling seat allotment result has been released on Aug 30,  2025. The fee payment date for the round 2 seat allotment has been extended till September 03, 2025.  

KCET or Karnataka Common Entrance Test is conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for admission to undergraduate B.E./B.Tech., Pharma. B., Pharma. D., Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Forest, Sericulture, Agriculture Biotech, Horticulture, Bachelor of Home Science, and many more.

Who Is Eligible for KCET 2025 Round 2 Counselling?

The KCET Counselling round 2 schedule has been released by the authorities. The round 2 process seat allotment result has been released on Aug 30,  2025. If you have applied for KCET 2025 counselling and have not been allotted a seat in the first round, you are eligible to participate in round 2. There is a row of eligibility criteria that is required if you want to participate in the round 2 KCET counselling. 

You will be eligible for KCET 2025 Round 2 counselling if

• If your name was not in the KCET round 1 allotment result.
• If you have selected Choice 2 (hold) or Choice 3 (reject but continue) in round 2
• If you are a verified and registered applicant who remained active throughout Round 1.

Note: If you participated in Round 1 and don’t fall into any of these categories, you may not be eligible. Always verify eligibility via the official KEA portal.

Step-by-Step KCET 2025 Round 2 Counselling Process

The Round 2 counselling is a series of steps that takes place before the seat allotment result. 

The series of steps before the KCET 2025 Counselling seat allotment result is as follows:

•  Document Verification

Make sure that your documents are verified beforehand. The document verification should be completed during the round 1 process only. No special document verification is done. Try to verify documents before the round 2 counselling registration starts. 

• Option Entry & Choice Editing

Follow the given steps  for option entry and choice editing

• Log in at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in using your application number/password.
• Reorder, add, or delete your preferences.
• Only verified/editable lists are accepted during this time

• Mock Seat and Provisional Allotment 

KEA releases a mock seat allotment before the final seat allotment result. The mock most seat allotment helps you to get an idea of where your chance stands. The provisional seat allotment is released after the mock seat allotment. In most of cases, the provisional seat allotment is rereleased as the final seat allotment result. You can object the provisional seat allotment result. If the objection is accepted, final seat allotment result will change. 

• Final Seat Allotment

• Provisional list: The provisional list will be posted on September 18, 2025. You can object to the provisional seat allotment result.  
• Final list: The Final list will be released post  objections on September 21 , 2025

• Fee Payment & Seat Acceptance

For seat acceptance, there are 4 choices that you can take up. These choices are:

• Choice 1: Accept the allotment, pay fees, and exit further rounds.
• Choice 2: Pay fees but stay eligible for higher or extended rounds.
• Choice 3: Reject but stay in the process.
• Choice 4: Withdraw entirely; the seat gets cancelled.

• Reporting to the College

Finally, report to the allotted institution with all documents and the fee receipt is done. You need to report to the college before the specified deadline. The deadline for reporting has not been released yet. The reporting is expected to close in the last week of September or the first week of October. 

Documents Required for KCET Counselling 2025

A number of documents are required to be submitted before the deadline. The seat will be confirmed once the documents are given to the colleges allotted to you. The list of documents required is:

• KCET application form (printed)
• KCET admit card, rank card
• SSLC (10th) & 2nd PUC (12th) mark sheets
• Study Certificate (countersigned by BEO/DDPI)
• Two passport-size photographs
• Proof of fee payment for option entry
• Category-specific certificates (Caste, Income, EWS/OBC/SC/ST) if applicable
• Domicile/Kannada medium certificate, NCC/Sports/Minority certificates, etc.

Tips to Maximise Your Chances in KCET 2025 Round 2 Seat Allotment Result

1. Choose wisely: Make a mix of realistic and dream aspirational college options in your list.
2. Use the mock allotment: Even if it’s just a sample, it helps you decide better and update your choices.
3. Watch for updates: Don’t miss any deadlines. Even being late by a few hours can cost you your seat.
4. Keep documents ready: Have extra copies of all documents. KEA will keep one set with them.
5. Know what your choice means:

• Choice 1: You accept the seat and can’t change it later.
• Choice 2: You accept for now, but stay in the process for better options.

Check for new seat openings: Some students leave or cancel their seats after Round 1, which means more seats may open in Round 2.

Don’t skip college reporting: If you get a seat and don’t go to college on time, you could lose both the seat and your fee.
