Documents Required for KCET 2026 Counselling Process

There is a list of documents required at the time of the document verification process for the KCET counselling. The Documents required for the KCET counselling process are as follows:

• KCET Rank Card / Result Sheet
• SSLC / 10th Marks Card
• 2nd PUC / 12th Marks Card
• Study Certificates (1st to 12th if required)
• Caste/Category/Income Certificates (if applicable)
• Rural / Kannada Medium / NCC / Defence / Special category proofs
• Domicile certificate, if demanded
• Photo ID (Aadhaar / PAN / Voter ID)
• Recent passport photos

Step-by-Step KCET 2026 Counselling Process

Step 1 — Document Verification
Upload all the required documents to the online portal and download the KCET verification slip after the process is complete. 

Step 2 — Download Verification Slip
It contains special category codes, eligibility details, and candidate rank information. If the verification slip is not downloaded by you, you will not be able to participate in the KCET 2026 counselling process. 

Step 3 — Option Entry (College & Branch Choice Filling)
After the document verification process, you are required to fill out the list of colleges of your choice. There is no limit to filling the KCET college options. Make sure you are filling the colleges according to the first-come come first-served priority. 

Step 4 — Seat Allotment (Round-wise)
The KCET counselling seat allotment is released on the basis of ranks, reservations, and preferences.

Step 5 — Choice Exercise (Select A/B/C/D option)
There are 4 choices that you can pick during the choice exercise process. These choices are as follows:

• Choice 1 — Accept seat and freeze (no further rounds)
  
  
• Choice 2 — Accept the seat, but also continue for an upgrade
  
  
• Choice 3 — Reject the seat and enter the next round
  
  
• Choice 4 — Quit counselling permanently

Step 6 — Fee Payment & Admission Order
For Choices 1 and 2, you must pay fees online and download the Admission Order.

Step 7 — Report to College
Submit documents and the fee receipt within the deadline.
