The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2025 commenced from Jun 03, 2025 online on the official website. The candidates who have cleared the JEE Main 2025 and JEE Advanced 2025 exam can participate in JoSAA counselling. JoSAA Counselling 2025 is conducted every year for admission into top institutes including 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 26 IIITs and 40 GFTI’s.

Step 1: Online Registration

Step 2: Choice Filling
During the JoSAA Choice filling process, candidates need to select their preferred institute and courses that they want to opt for the admission. Based on their JEE Main or JEE Advanced score, and Institute’s cutoff for different courses, candidates need to fill and lock their preferred choices.
JoSAA #year Choice Filling: Important Guidelines
Candidates must enter their selections for the JoSAA #year seat allocation by following the steps below:
- All choices must be filled out by students in order of decreasing preference.
- Candidates will have 10 days to complete their online selections.
- Candidates shouldn't leave their selections till the very last minute. It must be completed as quickly as possible.

Step 3: Seat Allotment

- The JoSAA 2025 seat allotment result will be announced on the official website by the JoSAA counselling authority.
- To monitor the seat assignment status of JoSAA counselling 2025, students must log in using their application number and password.
- Accepting the given seat without agreeing to participate in the next round, accepting with the intent to participate in the next round, or rejecting the allotted seat without agreeing to participate in the following round, counselling is available to students.
Step 4: Document Verification
Candidates, who are registered, uploaded documents and paid seat acceptance fee, Online document verification will be carried out by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) virtual reporting centres within the scheduled dates. During online document verification, verifying users will verify DOB, Category, PwD, KM and passing status and update accordingly. The following can happen based on the updation of the candidate’s parameters:
- Candidate will remain in this round and seat remains allotted as original allotment
- The candidate's allotted seat would be cancelled in this round and will be moved to the next round and based on the updated eligibility and seat availability, he/she may be allotted a seat in the next round.
- Candidate will be out of the system completely for any further rounds
Based on input provided by verifying users during documents verification, if an allotted seat is being confirmed then “Provisional Admission Letter” or “Seat Cancellation Letter” will be generated in the candidate login.
Step 5: Reporting to the Assigned College
After the seat allotment process, candidates need to report to the assigned colleges. Processes like admission formalities, fee paying, and document submission should be done within the allotted time given by the authorities. Some medical examinations and other formalities are also done as per the requirements of the institute. The candidate should keep in mind that
- Candidates must report to the college allotted to them on the assigned date and time slot.
- They must carry original certificates and documents for completing the admission procedure.
JoSAA Registration Fee Structure
Many components in the JoSAA fee structure are involved in the whole JoSAA Counselling Process.
- Registration Cost: There is no registration fee or choice filling fee for JoSAA Counselling.
- Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF): The Seat Acceptance Fee is the fee that is paid to confirm your acceptance for the seat allotted. This fee includes a JoSAA processing charge of ₹5,000, which is non-refundable. The remaining amount is adjusted against your admission fee at the admitting institute. 3. Institute Admission Fee (Post Seat Acceptance): After the seat is accepted with seat acceptance fee, the balance fee is deposited directly to the institute. The factors like tuition fee and hostel charges vary with the institutes.
Documents Required for JoSAA 2025 Registration
For JoSAA 2025 counselling process, candidates needs to upload some important documents during the registration and online reporting process. These documents are essential for both verification process and is submitted during the seat allocation as well. Candidate should bring the original documents, as well as a set of self-attested photocopies to the reporting centre.
