Who is Sabitha Indra Reddy?

Sabitha Indra Reddy is an Indian politician who is the current Minister of State for Education of Telangana, additionally Member of the Telangana Legislative Assembly from Maheshwaram Constituency. She Joined TRS Party in 2019. She became the first woman Home Minister of any Indian Government after the late CM Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy allocated that portfolio to her. She is also the first women minister for Telangana.

An education minister works under the Ministry of education, mainly responsible for dealing with educational development and improvements. She is among the top female leaders of the country.

Sabitha was born on 5th May 1963 at Tandur to Mahipal Reddy and Venkatamma. She completed her B.Sc from Sri Vani Womens Degree College, Hyderabad. She was married to P. Indra Reddy, a Home Minister in N T Rama Rao’s cabinet. After his demise in a road accident, Sabitha was widowed at the young age of 37 and began her journey in politics.

Both Indra Reddy and Sabitha have been Home Ministers for Andhra Pradesh, making them the only couple in India.

Political Career of Sabitha Indra Reddy

Sabitha Indra Reddy entered politics through the 2000 By-elections after the death of her husband. She contested as a representative of the Congress Party from Chevella MLA Constituency against KLR. with the sympathy of her dead husband. She won the elections.

In the 2004 General elections, her hard work paid off, and she won the elections with an even bigger majority than the previous one. She won the 2009 General elections, making her the first female Home Minister to any state in India. She was also successful in winning the 2018 General elections.

Kadiyam Srihari

Kadiyam Srihari is an Indian politician who is the Former Deputy Chief Minister and former Education Minister of Telangana State. He was initially the Member of Parliament from the Warangal constituency from Telangana, serving from 2014 to 2015. He was a well-known MLA from Ghanpur Station Constituency and worked as Minister in the cabinets of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao and Nara Chandrababu Naidu. He was a proud PolitBureau member of the Telugu Desam Party as he was feared by all and the general secretary of TDP.

He was the Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh from 1995 to 2004, in later education, marketing, social welfare, and then irrigation under the Cabinet of Nara Chandrababu Naidu. He later joined the Telangana Rashtra Samithi party after this and is its politburo member. He took an oath as a cabinet minister in the Telangana government on the 25th of January 2015 and as a Deputy Chief Minister before becoming Education Minister.

Guntakandla Jagadish Reddy, born on the 18th of July in 1965, is an Indian politician currently working as the MLA for Suryapet. Jagadish Reddy served as Minister of Energy as he is the first minister for the position in Telangana since 2019 and counting. He also helped out as an Education Minister for Telangana in the same year.

Jagadish Reddy was the Energy minister of Telangana from 2014 to 2018 as this was his serving period. He is also a current member of the TRS party Polit bureau.
