LPU NEST (B.Tech): What’s New?

Lovely Professional University’s National Entrance & Scholarship Test (LPU NEST) that is conducted for admissions to the University’s B.Tech programmes has introduced a new pattern this year. Much like the new JEE pattern introduced by CBSE, LPUNEST will also be conducted in two phases. Applicants to the exam will have to appear in the first phase in January and in April for the second phase. The dates and process for the exam has been announced.

LPU NEST as the name suggests, is an Entrance-cum-Scholarship test. Those who qualify in the test will be eligible for scholarships provided by the University. The scholarships offered are all the way up to INR 7.5 Lakhs.

Who are eligible to apply?

• Those who have completed 10+2 and those who are appearing for the boards in 2019 are eligible to apply for LPUNEST (B.Tech).
• The applicants must have scored at least an aggregate of 60% at the +2 level with Physics, Chemistry, English as compulsory subjects and Biology / Mathematics / Biotechnology as an optional subject.

How is LPUNEST conducted?

The entrance test is conducted in the Online mode only. LPU has entrance test centres in over 200 cities across India to make it accessible to everyone. Students just have to find the centre nearest to them. LPUNEST consists of 50 questions in total carrying 4 marks each. Among them, 30 questions are on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology and 20 questions will be on English. There is no negative marking and every correct answer adds 4 marks. The syllabus for the test is same as the +2 subjects & syllabus.

When to apply for LPUNEST?

• The Date and Test Centre suitable to the candidates can be selected subject to availability.
• It is generally advised to apply as early as possible to avail the suitable date and time to take the test.
• The schedule given is tentative and is subject to changes at the discretion of LPU.

Note:

• Those who want to improve their result after Schedule I can appear for a second time in Schedule II by paying an application fee of INR 300/-.
• The better score out of the two will be considered for cut-off and ranks.
• Round III will be conducted only in case of having vacant seats.
• All applicants are advised to book and appear for the test at the earliest to avoid the rush at the end.
