The National Institute of Bank Management, Pune was established in the year 1969 by the Reserve Bank of India, in consultation with the Govt. Of India. The college conducts about 150 training programs in various functional areas. Every year over 3500 participants, including about 250 from various developing nations attend NIBM training programs. The program got approved by AICTE in 2013. It's an autonomous apex institute. NIBM placement has seen a 100% growth recorded for the PGDM course. In the year 2004, the postgraduate program in Banking and Finance [PGPBF] was renamed as a post-graduate diploma in management. NIBM admission is done under the guidance of college management. After completing the first three-term, all students have to take up a summer internship assignment or project in an organization for 8 weeks.

The college also provides medical facilities for the students. NIBM facility has a hostel for both boys and girls. The campus has a canteen where students get healthy foods.
