Whereas as per the 2023 NIRF Ranking VIT was ranked as the 8th best University Category, 11th best Research, and 11th best Engineering institution in India. The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023 ranked VIT 9th in the engineering category and 240th globally. The ranking criteria include teaching, learning, resources, research and professional practice, graduation result, outreach and inclusion, and perception.
