Each chapters and topics in Karnataka SSLC Science exam has different weightage. Knowing about the weightage helps students prioritise topics accordingly. Check here Karnataka SSLC Science Weightage 2026!
The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) will conduct the Karnataka SSLC 2026 Exam for 100 marks. The theory examination is held for 3 hours and 15 minutes and carries 80 marks, while 20 marks are reserved for internal assessment. You must secure at atleast 35% in order to pass the exam.
As science is the main subject on the Karnataka SSLC 2026 Exam, concentrate on the high-weighted subjects to get better scores. To maximize scoring potential, chapters with the highest weight (8 marks, or roughly 10%), such as Electricity, Light – Reflection and Refraction, Life Processes, and Carbon and Its Compounds, should be given priority.
The majority of the theory paper is made up of medium-weighted chapters like Acids, Bases, and Salts, Metals and Non-Metals; Magnetic Effects of Electric Currents, and Heredity and Evolution. As the questions are distributed throughout Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, a well-rounded preparation approach along with excellent internal assessment results can greatly increase final grades.
Karnataka SSLC Science Exam Pattern 2026
The Science paper consists of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and is worth 100 marks in total. The theory paper is worth 80 marks, while the practical and internal assessments are worth 20 each. The paper contains multiple-choice, short, and long questions.

How to Score High using Karnataka SSLC Science Weightage 2026 ?
You can check out the tips below on how to secure a high score using karnataka sslc science weightage 2026:
-
High-weightage chapters, such as Electricity, Life Processes, Carbon and Its Compounds, and Light, should be the first part of your preparation because they often contain long-answer questions and carry the highest marks.
-
Particularly in physics and biology, pay close attention to definitions, diagrams, and numbers because they are scored and frequently repeated in exams.
-
To guarantee consistent score coverage throughout the syllabus, strengthen medium-weighted chapters like Acids, Bases, and Salts, Metals and Non-Metals, and Magnetic Effects of Electric Currents.
-
MCQs and short-answer questions make up a big part of the paper, so practice them frequently to increase accuracy and time management.
-
Do not ignore internal assessments—scoring full or near-full marks in practicals, Internal assessments should not be disregarded; obtaining full or nearly full marks in projects, lab records, and practicals can significantly enhance your final performance.
