Eligibility Criteria for BMS College of Engineering

Candidates can refer to the eligibility criteria mentioned below for different categories like general, SC/ST, and OBC students.

For General Merit Candidates: To pursue undergraduate programs (BE), candidates must have passed the 2nd PUC / 12th standard or an equivalent examination with English as one of the languages.

They should have achieved a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with Chemistry/BioTechnology/Biology/Computer Science/Electronics as optional subjects.

For SC/ST & OBC (Cat-I, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B) Category Candidates: To pursue undergraduate programs (BE), candidates must have passed the 2nd PUC / 12th standard or an equivalent examination with English as one of the languages.

They should have attained a minimum of 40% aggregate marks in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with Chemistry/BioTechnology/Biology/Computer Science/Electronics as optional subjects.

NOTE:

In case the marks obtained in Chemistry are insufficient to meet the required aggregate percentage for eligibility, the marks obtained in Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/Electronics will be considered as a substitute.
Candidates need to appear for either the KEA or COMED-K entrance examination. For management admissions, candidates are required to take any one of the specified entrance examinations.

For Three Years Bachelor of Engineering (Lateral Entry)

Candidates who have passed the Qualifying Examination, which can be a diploma examination or a similar equivalent examination, and have obtained a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in all subjects of the final year (fifth and sixth semesters) of the diploma examination, are eligible for admission to BE courses.
For SC, ST, and Backward Classes candidates from Karnataka, the minimum required marks in the Qualifying Examination are 40%.
