Matriculation Certificate is a 10th board examination passing certificate that signifies that a student has qualified for a secondary-level examination and is prepared for higher studies. Every board in India awards 10th passed examinees with a matriculation certificate after the result declaration by the boards.

What is a Matriculation Certificate?
A matriculation certificate is a secondary school certificate given to students who successfully pass class 10th. It is evidence that states that the candidate has received an entry-level secondary education. There are usually more seats for students in class 10 than in class 11, so the matriculation certificate and matriculation examinations are the most common in India.
There are various boards like ISC, CBSE and State Boards that award matriculation certificates to qualified students. Types of Matriculation Certificate
There are various types of matriculation certificates in the Indian secondary education system. The three main types of matriculation certificates are ICSE, CBSE, and State boards. Below is a brief about the different types of matriculation certificates.
- ICSE Matriculation Certificate: The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) is a matriculation certificate given to students scoring a minimum of 33 percent or higher in the board examination. Students must score at least the pass percentage in the mandatory subjects to be eligible for a matriculation certificate.
- CBSE Matriculation Certificate: Central Board of Secondary Education awards matriculation certificate to CBSE board exam-passing candidates with at least 33% aggregate marks. In this case, if the candidate has a practical combined subject, then they must score 33% in each paper to qualify for a matriculation certificate from the CBSE board.
- State Boards Matriculation Certificate: Matriculation certificate is awarded to state board candidates after clearing the state board examination. Every state board has different qualifying marks, and students must achieve the minimum passing percentage to get their matriculation certificate. The passing marks range from 25% to 45% based on the state board's rules and regulations.

State Board (WBBSE)
West Bengal Board of Secondary Education follows the seven points grading system in which students must secure at least grade “C” in compulsory subjects to pass the examination.
