Chandigarh University UP celebrated Engineer’s Day 2025 with AI-driven panels, hackathons, and industry-academia collaborations for a Viksit Bharat vision.
Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh – September 18, 2025 – Chandigarh University, Uttar Pradesh (CU-UP) celebrated Engineer’s Day 2025 with a dynamic showcase of innovation, research, and collaboration. The Faculty of Engineering & Technology hosted a day-long program highlighting Artificial Intelligence (AI) as the driving force for India’s technological future.
The event opened with addresses by Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Prasad, Dean of Engineering, and Dr. Ajay Yadav, Registrar, who emphasized innovation, ethics, and societal responsibility in engineering.
Industry leaders and academicians enriched the event with thought leadership. Mr. Alok Agarwal (PTC Industries) shared insights on manufacturing innovation, Dr. Nischal Verma (IIT Kanpur) spoke on emerging research, Mr. Anil K. Tiwari (UPPCL) addressed sustainable energy, and Mr. Joginder Singh Meravi (BEL) discussed defense technology’s impact.
A key highlight was the panel “Engineering India’s Future: AI and Innovation for Nation Building” featuring experts from TCS, PwC, and University of Lucknow, who explored AI applications across healthcare, agriculture, and governance—aligning with India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
The celebration extended beyond academia, engaging local school students with campus tours, interactive sessions, and live demonstrations in CU-UP’s AI arena. Students also participated in hackathons, quizzes, debates, idea pitch challenges, and creative contests, showcasing their innovation and problem-solving skills.
The day concluded with an Engineer’s Pledge and a prize distribution ceremony, honoring outstanding participants. CU-UP leaders reaffirmed their mission to create “future-ready engineers” equipped with AI expertise, global perspective, and strong ethical values.
This Engineer’s Day not only paid tribute to India’s engineering pioneers but also reinforced CU-UP’s role as a hub of AI-driven innovation and nation-building.
