The ceremony was graced by eminent national personalities, including the Minister of State for Home Affairs and Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat, Mr. Harsh Sanghvi; renowned journalist and Chairman & Editor-in-Chief of India TV, Mr. Rajat Sharma; Olympic boxing legend MC Mary Kom; entrepreneur and Shark Tank India judge Vineeta Singh; and tennis icon Sania Mirza. As Chief Guest and Guests of Honour, they shared inspiring messages, encouraging graduates to embrace challenges, values, and lifelong learning.
A distinctive feature of this year’s convocation was Parul University’s recognition of a socially impactful initiative. The university collaborated with rural women artisans to create over 16,000 handcrafted Khadi scarves for graduating students. This initiative not only provided sustainable income and skill development opportunities for the artisans but also contributed to preserving India’s Khadi heritage while supporting the national missions of ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Make in India’.
Academic and professional excellence took centre stage during the felicitation ceremony. The university honoured 104 Gold Medalists and 44 Certificate of Merit recipients for their outstanding academic achievements. The prestigious President’s Medal was awarded to three distinguished alumni for their remarkable professional contributions and to three startups for demonstrating exceptional entrepreneurial spirit. In addition, 135 PhD scholars were recognised for their exemplary research work and academic excellence, reflecting the dedication and perseverance of the Class of 2025.
Addressing the graduates, Mr. Rajat Sharma delivered a deeply inspiring speech on ethics, public responsibility, and truth. Drawing from his long and illustrious career in journalism, he reminded students that success has no shortcuts and that perseverance through challenges ultimately leads to meaningful achievements.
Olympic boxing champion MC Mary Kom energised the audience with her powerful message on confidence and self-belief. She emphasised that confidence cannot be borrowed or purchased and must be built through discipline and hard work. She reminded graduates that earning a degree itself is a significant achievement and that this milestone marks the beginning of a journey filled with challenges and opportunities.
Entrepreneur Vineeta Singh motivated students with insights from her entrepreneurial journey, highlighting that failure is an essential part of success. She encouraged graduates to value the journey over the destination and to draw strength from India’s legacy of innovation, resilience, and problem-solving.
Tennis legend Sania Mirza spoke about dedication, balance, and resilience in both personal and professional life. She acknowledged the uncertainty that lies ahead for graduates while encouraging them to persevere through failures and rejections. She also emphasised the importance of respecting parents and believing in one’s dreams, reminding students that they are the future of the nation.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Devanshu Patel, President of Parul University, urged graduates to remain resilient, adaptable, and open to continuous learning. He inspired students to carry faith in themselves even when answers are unclear, concluding with the university’s powerful message, “Yahan Possible Hai.”
The 9th Convocation Ceremony was an emotional and celebratory occasion, marking both an ending and a beginning. As the graduates stepped forward into new possibilities, Parul University reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing talent, empowering young minds, and shaping leaders who will make meaningful contributions to society and the world.
