MAKAUT grading system follows Degree Grade Point Average (DGPA) system in which candidates' percentage score is converted into grade points such as 75 percent will account for 8.25-grade points, 70 percent will account for 7.75-grade points, and so on. Candidates can also refer to the promotion rules for the next semester or backlog criteria for any semester.

MAKAUT follows a grading pattern in which candidates can convert the percentage they have secured in their exams to the grade points. The table below shows the percentage marks to the converted grade point next to it.

Internal Grading Pattern

All MAKAUT-affiliated colleges adhere to the university's guidelines. According to university standards, each course is given 100 marks. Out of a possible 100 marks, 70 are for written assignments, while 30 are for internal. These 30 marks are bifurcated as:

Promotion Criteria for Next Semester

Conditions for candidates to be promoted to next year even if they hadn't completed all of the end-of-semester theory courses from the prior semester are:

Candidates with a minimum attendance rate of 75% the previous semester would be qualified for promotion to the following semester.
Candidates must have taken and passed all internal tests, continuous assessments, sessional exams, and practical exams.
Candidates must have applied and have a valid admit card from the previous semester to appear in the end-of-semester exams.

Conditions for a Semester Back

Candidates can refer to the below-mentioned rules and criteria in case they have a semester back in any year.

Suppose a candidate fails to clear a semester. In that case, they will have to be backlogged candidates for the end-of-semester theory exams in the equivalent semester of the following academic year.
Marks earned in continuous assessments, sessional exams, and practical exams when enrolled in a regular semester with the required minimum attendance will be carried forward to the next semester.
Backlog candidates would only be permitted to take the end-of-semester exams if they received the required marks on the relevant paper.
Suppose a candidate does not obtain the minimum passing marks in sessional or practical examinations. In that case, they will suffer a year's delay and must retake the semester in the following academic year.
However, the internal examination, which consists of 30 points, will not have separate qualifying or passing marks.
The grades received in the theory test and from the continuous evaluation of the normal semester will be used to calculate the grades for a backlog paper. Internal/continuous assessment mark improvements are not permitted.

Steps to Register for Revaluation Process

The revaluation process for Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) allows students to apply for rechecking of their answer scripts if they are not satisfied with their results. The university follows a specific procedure for the revaluation process, which is as follows.

Students must obtain the revaluation application form from the university's official website or the designated office.
Candidates must fill in the required details in the application form, including their name, roll number, semester details, subject code, and the reason for requesting a revaluation.
Students must pay the revaluation fee, which is generally non-refundable, through the prescribed mode of payment.
They have to submit the application form and the fee payment receipt to the university's designated office within the specified time frame.
The university will assign an examiner to recheck the answer sheet and verify if the original marks have been correctly calculated.
After revaluation, the university will issue a revised mark sheet reflecting the updated marks.

Candidates must note that the revaluation process does not guarantee a marked change. If there is any increase in the marks, the revised marks will be considered final, and the original marks will be disregarded. However, if there is a decrease in the marks after revaluation, the original marks will be considered final.

MAKAUT Revaluation Results

Qualified students may apply to MAKAUT for a total of their answer sheets. Before the submission deadline, students who are not satisfied with their results in particular subjects can request to have their Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology response sheets re-evaluated.

Candidates must pay a rechecking or totaling fee of INR 250 per subject. A second review of the whole response sheet for the concerned subject is part of the MAKAUT result revaluation process. Revaluation happens in two distinct ways:

PPR (Post Publication Review)

Evaluation and examination are the basis of revaluation. The overall aggregate is examined under scrutiny. Reviewing the entire document involves evaluating it.
