Parul University hosts Vadodara Rashtriya Natya Mahotsav, a 4-day theatre festival with plays, PU Talks, and sessions by Yashpal Sharma & Ashish Vidyarthi.
Vadodara, Gujarat – In a grand tribute to India’s rich legacy of theatre and performing arts, Parul University inaugurated the Vadodara Rashtriya Natya Mahotsav, a four-day national theatre festival celebrating the timeless spirit of drama, storytelling, and cultural expression.
The festival brings together an impressive line-up of plays and interactive sessions led by some of the country’s most acclaimed theatre and film personalities. Designed to inspire and educate, the event also provides a platform for aspiring students to engage with stalwarts of the stage.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by renowned actor Shri Yashpal Sharma, who shared his journey and passion for theatre with the audience. Speaking on the values instilled by the art form, he remarked, “Theatre teaches you self-esteem, to respect others, to build imagination power, instill leadership qualities and everything that makes you a good person.” He further emphasized that introducing children to theatre from a young age fosters cultural belonging and holistic growth.
Adding to the festival’s vibrancy, acclaimed actor Mr. Ashish Vidyarthi inspired students with a thought-provoking PU Talks session and a light-hearted yet meaningful stand-up interaction. Urging students to live with resilience and purpose, he said, “In life, you will never be known by your weight, height, and colour, but by the work you do. So don’t be bothered by what others say.” In closing, he reminded the young audience with a powerful message: “You don’t need to seek permission from others to be happy.”
On this occasion, Dr. Parul Patel, Vice President of Parul University, shared the vision behind hosting the festival: “It is with the help of the Vadodara Rashtriya Natya Utsav that we hope to restore the theatre spirit in its pristine form and ensure that our students get to learn from the roots and experiences of the luminaries of the stage.”
The Vadodara Rashtriya Natya Utsav stands as a testament to Parul University’s commitment to nurturing cultural expression, creativity, and holistic learning. Beyond entertainment, the festival highlights theatre’s role as an art form that instills values, fosters dialogue, and connects communities.
By hosting this festival, Parul University continues to champion the idea that education extends beyond classrooms—into spaces where creativity, culture, and stories bring people together.
