"NEET PG 2022 has been postponed by 6 to 8 weeks. Previously, the NEET PG 2022 exam was scheduled to take place on 12 March 2022."
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced that the NEET PG 2022 is postponed by 6 to 8 weeks. This decision was taken because the exam will clash with NEET PG 2021 counselling dates. Due to this, several interns would not be able to participate in the counselling by May or June 2022.
The Supreme Court is hearing a petition regarding the postponement of the exam today. A petition was filed by 6 MBBS graduates in the Supreme Court on 25 January 2022, seeking postponement of the NEET PG exam on 12 March 2022. The petition sought to postpone the NEET exam to avoid clashing with the PG regulations’ NEET PG 2021 counselling dates and the mandatory internship period required. The petition also sought an extension of the deadline for completing the internship from 31 May 2022.
