Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur released the GATE 2022 answer key today, 21 February. The GATE answer key consists of the correct responses to questions asked in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, which will further help candidates calculate their probable scores before the release of the GATE 2022 results. Furthermore, candidates who wish to object to the GATE answer key can challenge it from 22 to 25 February. However, every challenge requires a candidate to pay INR 500 for each objection.
Steps to Download the GATE 2022 Answer Key
Officials released the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2022 answer key today, 21 February. Thus, candidates can follow the steps to download the answer key:
- Visit the official website – gate.iitkgp.ac.in.
- Then, click on the “Login” link on the homepage.
- Enter your enrollment ID/email address and password and click on the “Submit” tab.
- The GATE question papers will appear on the screen along with the answer key.
- Finally, download the answer key in PDF format.
Steps to Raise Objections Against GATE 2022 Answer Key
Candidates will be able to raise objections against the answer key between 22 to 25 February.
- After downloading the answer key of GATE 2022, click on the challenge answer key link.
- Then, enter the question number you want to challenge.
- Afterwards, upload the supporting documents.
- Pay the fees of INR 500 per challenge.
- Finally, save and download the answer key challenge page for further reference.
Also, authorities will release the result of the GATE entrance exam on 17 March. Applicants will be able to check the GATE results with the help of login credentials. The results will consist of the scores achieved, qualifying marks, All India Rank, and more. Furthermore, the GATE 2022 scorecard will be available online on 21 March on the official website.

21 February 2022: GATE Marking Scheme
The GATE entrance exam consisted of a general aptitude section for 15 marks applicable to all papers. The marking scheme is for each incorrect answer to a one-marker question, one-third of marks will be deducted, while for each two-marker question, two-thirds of marks will be deducted for every wrong attempt. However, Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions carry no negative marks. Also, the GATE scores remain valid for three years after the announcement of the results.
21 February 2022: Answer Key Released and Objection Window Opened
IIT Kharagpur has released the GATE 2022 answer key today on the website. Also, they have opened the objection window for the candidates to raise objections against the answer key, if any. Applicants can use the GATE 2022 answer key to calculate their probable scores. Additionally, two new papers, namely Geomatics Engineering (GE) and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, were introduced for GATE 2022.
