• Step 1: Visit the official website at tneaonline.org.
• Step 2: Navigate to the notification tab and click on “TNEA Rank List 2025”
• Step 3: The category-wise rank list PDFs will be displayed on the screen
• Step 4: Candidates can choose the category they belong to and click on “Download PDF”
• Step 5: The TNEA rank list 2025 PDF will be downloaded.

TNEA 2025 Normalisation Method

The normalisation process of the TNEA 2025 rank list takes into consideration the marks from other boards, with the highest marks in the Tamil Nadu State Board. For example, if the highest marks in Tamil Nadu State Board in Chemistry are 100, and the highest in any other board is 90, the highest marks will be considered as 100.

However, if the marks secured by another student are 60, where 90 is the highest, the marks required will be reduced to 66.66 by using the following formula: (100x60) / 90 = 66.66% Once the normalisation process is complete, qualified students will be placed on the common merit list.

If a candidate has qualified from CBSE, ICSE, or other national boards, the National level marks will be taken into consideration for normalisation. This is the standard practice for the TNEA B.Arch rank list and other courses within the scope of the TNEA 2025 exam.

Preparing Inter-Se-Merit for TNEA Rank List 2025

The merit list of TNEA is prepared on a scale of 200 marks. If a candidate has secured the same marks as another on the common merit list, the inter-se-merit is considered to determine the order of priority. The following points shall apply:

• Marks secured in mathematics
• Marks secured in physics
• Marks secured in the fourth optional subject
• Candidate's date of birth (Senior candidate will be preferred)
• Assigning a random number where the higher value is preferred.

TNEA Tie-Breaking Policy 2025

If two or more applicants hold the same score in the previous qualifying examination, the authorities will use the TNEA tie-breaking policy 2025 to avoid any confusion at the time of admission. 

• In the case of a tie, the candidate with a higher percentage in Mathematics is given a higher rank.
• If the tie persists, the candidate with a higher percentage in Physics is given a higher rank.
• If it did not work, the candidate with a higher percentage in the optional subject is given a higher rank.
• If the tie persists, the candidate’s date of birth will be considered, and candidates of older age will be assigned a higher rank
• If nothing works, the TNEA random number 2025 will be used as a final option, and the candidate with the highest random number in a higher value will be assigned a higher rank.

The candidates who are eligible to participate in the TNEA counselling process can proceed with the next steps once the TNEA rank list 2025 is released. The TNEA counselling 2025 includes choice filling, seat allotment, document verification and admission. 

1. Choice Filling: The candidates are allowed to choose their preferred colleges and courses among the TNEA participating colleges before the deadline mentioned by the authorities. 
2. Seat Allotment: The seats are allotted as per the preferences made by the candidates and based on other factors like availability of seats, number of applicants, etc.
3. Confirmation of Allotment: Candidates allotted seats have to confirm the seats within the given time frame by freezing their options. 
4. Report to College/TFC: The candidates who confirm their seats have to visit the allotted college along with the provisional seat allotment letter.

The Tamil Nadu Department of Technical Education released the TNEA 2024 rank list on Jul 10, 2024. TNEA Rank List 2020

The authority creates the TNEA rank list based on the scores obtained in the qualifying exam.

The TNEA counselling process extends upto four to five rounds, and only candidates who have obtained the required rank in the entrance test will be allowed to appear for the counselling process. Based on the overall rank and community rank of the candidate, the seat will be allotted through online counselling only.
