TNEA is an online counselling process conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai, for aspirants looking for admission into the top Engineering colleges of Tamil Nadu. Qualified candidates will be granted admission into various private and government engineering colleges/institutes affiliated with Anna University.

TNEA counselling dates 2025 were announced by the authorities in the official website. The last date for TNEA registration is Jun 06, 2025. Students must upload their documents for verification before Jun 09, 2025.

TNEA Registration 2025

The TNEA registrations were open till Jun 06, 2025 in the TNEA online counselling portal. Candidates must upload the required documents online while submitting the TNEA application form. The application process consists of registration, filling out forms, uploading documents, and paying the TNEA application fee 2025.

How to Apply for TNEA Counselling 2025?

Step 1: Candidates must visit the TNEA online counselling portal to complete the application form 2025 process. Once they have entered the official website, they must click on the 'New User Registration' link.

Step 2: A OTP (One-time-password) will be generated after submitting all the required details. Only after entering the OTP will confirmation of the candidate's details be done.

Step 3: Candidates must log in again with the credentials they created while registering in the first step, using their login ID (email) and password. The TNEA application form will be displayed upon completion of this step
Step 4: Candidates must add the special reservation information by filling in the information given below in the TNEA application form 2025. To choose each of these categories, the candidate must pay INR 100.

• Sports Certificates of District/ Divisional/ State/ National/ International
• Eminent Sports Person 
• Ex-Serviceman 
• Differently Abled Person (PwD)
• Preferred Certificate Verification Centre (TFC) for the categories mentioned above.

Step 5: Candidates must enter details regarding the family income, parent occupation, etc to avail any scholarships offered by the institutions

Step 6: This step requires the candidates to fill in the School of Study (from class 8 to 12) information and the civic status of the school

Step 7: Academic details of the candidate including previous qualifying examination, name of the board, marks obtained must be entered by the candidate

TNEA Eligibility Criteria 2025

TNEA eligibility criteria deal with educational qualification, age limit, and age relaxation for reserved categories. Candidates applying for the counselling must check the TNEA eligibility criteria released along with the notification.

• Education: The candidate should have passed the Class 12 board exam or equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate mark. All the applicants must have cleared the 10+2 examination. Generally, you should have studied Class 8th to 12th in Tamil Nadu. 
• Subject Requirements: Candidates applying for the TNEA 2025 must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects for their class 12 or equivalent exam.
• TNEA Age Limit: The age limit for applying to TNEA is 25 years. Candidates who are above 25 years are not eligible for TNEA admissions.
• Documents Required:  Candidates should have class 10 and 12 grade marks, Aadhar card, transfer certificate (TC), community certificate (if applicable), nativity certificate (if applicable), income certificate (for scholarships or fee reductions), and passport-size images.

TNEA Random Number 2025

The TNEA random number 2025 will be issued by the authorities on Jun 11, 2025. It's a 10-digit number given to registered students to break the tie after exhausting the given options. 

The government has announced the TNEA 2025 random number normalisation process. If all other options for breaking a tie between two or more candidates have been explored, the random number TNEA 2025 will be used. Candidates can look up their TNEA random numbers on the official website. The authorities use a computerised technique to generate the TNEA random number, which is unchangeable upon request.

TNEA Rank List 2025

DoTE will release the TNEA 2025 rank list on its official website, tneaonline.org. The TNEA rank list is based on candidates' qualifying exam scores. The obtained marks were reduced to a base of 200 (100 for mathematics and 100 for physics and chemistry combined). The authorities utilise a normalisation procedure to create a TNEA 2025 rank list.

Candidates whose names appear on the TNEA rank list 2025 will be eligible to participate in the TNEA choice filling process. TNEA Cutoff 2025

The TNEA cutoff 2025 will be released online in the official website in PDF format as opening and closing rank. The candidates who qualify with the required TNEA cutoff 2025 will be eligible for further counselling rounds.
