The CBSE Class 10 Science 2026 exam will be a 100-mark paper, with an 80-mark theory paper and a 20-mark internal assessment. The theory paper will be split into five parts, A to E, that test competency, knowledge, and concepts. Section A will be totalling 20 marks. Section B will total 12 marks. Section C will be graded for a total of 21 marks. Section D will be totalling 15 marks. Section E consists of 12 marks. The internal assessments are divided into three areas, such as periodic tests and practical tests, which will be conducted for 10 marks, and portfolios/projects will be conducted for 5 marks. The duration of the exam will last three hours. This exam does not include negative marking.

- To start with, prioritize high-weightage units such as Chemical Substances—Nature and Behavior and World of the Living, as these two sections alone make up almost 50 marks, nearly 60% of the paper.
- Mastering the high-weight chapters of Metals and Non-Metals (10 marks), Life Processes (about 9 marks), Light—Reflection and Refraction (10 marks), and Heredity and Evolution (7 marks) is necessary. These require proper revision, like sketching diagrams, remembering definitions, and doing numericals wherever necessary.
