KCET Revised Result 2022 Tentatively Releasing on Oct 1 at kea.kar.nic.in: Check Details

KCET Revised Result 2022: The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) will declare the KCET revised result 2022 on Oct 1, 2022. KCET 2022 results will be announced on the official website- kea.kar.nic.in.

The official announcement comes after the order of the Karnataka High Court asking the Karnataka Exam Authority to follow the suggestions of the technical committee on preparing the KCET revised result 2022 rankings. The formula will be applied to candidates who passed Karnataka's second PUC in 2020-21.

"The qualifying marks of 2021 PU batch students shall be deducted by an average of 6 marks in Physics, 5 marks in Chemistry, and 7 marks in Mathematics, resulting in a total deduction of 6 marks for 100 qualifying marks," the committee led by DR. B. Thimme Gowda, Vice Chairman of the Karnataka State Higher Education Council, suggested.

On Thursday, the KEA sent the proposal to a division bench headed over by Acting Chief Justice Alok Aradhe in a sealed envelope. The High Court ordered the authorities to proceed with the KCET revised result 2022 ranking using this formula on Friday.

The High Court ruling directing KEA to take 50% of the second PUC marks from students in the 2020–21 batch into account for preparing the KCET 2022 rankings was challenged by the Karnataka Government. The High Court order was described as "unfair" for the present batch of students by the minister of higher education for Karnataka, CN Ashwath Narayan.

A single-judge panel of the Karnataka High Court earlier in September rejected a KEA notification that stated students from the 2020-21 batch's second-year pre-university exam scores will not be taken into account for rankings in the entrance to professional courses. After considering 50% of all students' PUC marks and 50% of their CET scores, the HC instructed KEA to rewrite the whole rank list.

KCET 2022 result was announced on Jul 30, 2022, for over 2 lakh candidates. A total of 2,10,829 students appeared for the KCET 2022 exam held on Jun 16 and 17, 2022.
