Preparation Tips for JEE Main 2022
Since JEE Main is just a month away, students must follow the right strategy in order to ace it. The following are some tips for preparing for JEE Main 2022:
Focus on NCERT for Success in JEE Main
The NTA conducts JEE Main, and NTA is affiliated with CBSE, whose curriculum is based on NCERT. Hence, students must consider NCERT as textbooks for exam preparation. Aspirants must focus on NCERT for Chemistry in particular. In case the aspirant has weak areas in any chapter, he/she should practise the previous year’s question papers or read the relevant chapter from NCERT. JEE Main previous year question papers will help you build confidence.
Practice What You Have Already Read
Every aspirant dreams of taking the JEE Main exam and clearing it to qualify for JEE Advanced 2022. Aspirants should not start reading new chapters prior to JEE Main 2022 but instead, revise what they have already read.
Practice Mock Tests in an Environment Similar to JEE Main
You might be aware that JEE Main occurs in two shifts, 9 am to 12 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm. Aspirants must practice mock tests at home during these times so that they become more familiar with the JEE Main sitting. Since laziness is more prevalent in the afternoon, you should practice more mock tests from 3 to 6 in the noon. Try setting up your home as a simulation of an exam centre. Make sure that you practice sitting for three hours at home without any nature calls before appearing for a mock exam.
Take a Mock Test at Home to Overcome the Exam Fear
Aspirants must take mock tests every day at home to get over the exam fear. By practising the questions, they will become more proficient and eliminate their exam fear.
Revise Your Mistakes
The aspirant should focus on the previous mistakes before attempting the mock test. Also, finding new mistakes before the actual JEE Main paper is a treasure as it draws attention to such types of questions. You can also analyse the mock test paper in detail.
Prioritise Questions for JEE Main
Generally, each question paper of a subject is divided into sections A & section B. Section A of the question paper will have 20 questions with no choices; section B will have questions based on numerical values. Each candidate gets 10 questions, of which they will only need to answer 5 of their choice. The aspirants must attempt their best five questions since the first five questions are taken into account for the scoring.
Do Not Expect Rescheduling of JEE Main Session 2 Schedule Time
Unlike the JEE Main session 1 schedule time, aspirants should not expect a rescheduling of the JEE Main session 2. There has now been a change to the JEE Main Session schedule. It is now scheduled for 21 April, 24 April, 25 April, 29 April, 1 May, and 4 May, instead of 16 April – 21 April. However, it is very unlikely that the scheduled time for session 2 will change. This is because the dates for the JEE Advanced are scheduled and confirmed for 3 July.
Follow a Consistent Routine for Best Results in JEE Main
During the day, aspirants should consume a heavy breakfast, a normal lunch, and a light dinner. Since summer has arrived, candidates should drink more liquids, such as juice and water. Practising mock tests should be the top priority for every JEE Main aspirant, so they can go to bed feeling satisfied and wake up with determination to prepare for the exam.
