CAT 2022: The CAT 2022 Notification has been issued and application forms will be available from 3 August 2022. Candidates who wish to apply should be aware of the eligibility requirements as well as the reservation policy. The CAT 2022 Reservation Policy has been released by the Indian Institute of Management on the official website at iimcat.ac.in.
CAT 2022 Category-wise Seat Reservation Policy
According to the notification, the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes “Non-Creamy” layer (NC-OBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities will be recognised in CAT 2022. (PwD). Candidates applying under these categories must provide supporting documentation that has been signed by officials.

Eligibility Criteria for CAT 2022 PWD Reservation
According to the CAT 2022 Reservation Policy, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD) will be considered for people with a minimum of 40% disability.
The policy will specifically accept candidates based on the definition outlined in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. (RPwD Act 2016).
People with disabilities are not less than 40% of the population, according to the act, which is not definitive and cannot be measured under terms that are certified by the relevant authorities.
The RPwD Act 2016 specifies the following categories of disabilities:
- Low vision or are blind.
- Problems with hearing or deafness.
- Cured with leprosy, victims of acid attacks, dwarfism, muscular dystrophy, and locomotor disability, including cerebral palsy
- Autism, specific learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and mental illnesses.
Furthermore, candidates with multiple disabilities will be considered under the Specified Disabilities category, as specified in the Schedule for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. (RPwD Act 2016).
Please Note: Candidates must be careful when filling out the details as they will not be allowed to change or modify them and the information will be considered during the admission process at IIMs.
