UGC Issues List of 21 Fake Universities, Institutions – Check State-Wise List
UGC has released a list of 21 fake universities and institutions. Candidates can check the state wise list of universities below.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released a list containing the names of the universities and institutions functioning against the University Grants Commissions Act, 1956. These 21 universities and institutions do not have any power to confer degrees to any student. Candidates can check the fake list of universities on the UGC’s official website, i.e., ugc.ac.in.
The UGC released an official notification and stated that the universities could confer degrees only if the university is established under a Central, State/ Provincial Act or by an institution deemed to be a university. Also, the institutions especially empowered by an Act of Parliament, can also award degrees to students. The UGC has termed the universities that are mentioned in the list published today as self-styled, unrecognised institutions with no power to confer degrees.
