KEA will declare the KCET 2022 revised ranks tomorrow, Oct 1. Candidates will be able to check their revised ranks in KCET 2022 at the official website of the KEA.
KCET Revised Result 2022: The Karnataka Examinations Authority(KEA) will declare the KCET 2022 revised ranks tomorrow, Oct 1. KCET 2022 Ranks are being revised by the KEA on the orders of the Karnataka High Court. Both repeater and fresher students will witness a change in ranks in KCET Revised Result 2022. Once released, candidates will be able to access the KCET Revised Result 2022 from the KCET official website: cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea
The KEA expert committee has devised a new method to determine the KCET 2022 ranks for repeater students. Per the new rules, 94% of the candidate's marks from the PUC 2 exams 2021 will contribute 50% weightage, and the remaining 50% weightage will be given for KCET Result 2022. Hence, six marks in Physics, five marks in Chemistry, and seven marks in Mathematics will be cut out from the total 100 marks. As for fresher students, there will be no changes in how the ranks are calculated. As announced earlier, 100% of their marks in the PUC 2 exams 2022 will be considered to determine the 50% weightage and the other 50% will be contributed by the KCET 2022 Result.

The KEA had intitially prepared KCET 2022 result for over 20,000 repeater candidates that completed their PUC in 2020-21 after only considering their KCET score and not their PUC marks. However, several students appealed against this move by the KEA at the Karnataka High Court. Following this, the honourable court quashed the KEA's decision and ordered the KEA to redo the rankings considering 50% PUC marks for the repeater students.
Furthermore, after the KCET Revised Result 2022 are published, the KCET counselling 2022 process will begin on Oct 3. To ensure equal justice in the seat allotment, authorities have added 10% of seats in IT-related B.Tech specializations. The report about revised method of rank calculation and the increment in the number of seats was submitted to the Karnataka High court on Sep 23 and was approved by the division bench comprising of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice S Vishwajith Shetty.
