How to Calculate JEE Main Rank 2022?: The NTA will soon announce the JEE Main 2022 result for session 2. They will announce the result in the form of a percentile score. Officials will calculate the All India JEE Main 2022 ranking by calculating the best score out of four attempts.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has earlier released the cut-off marks for the first session, i.e., June Session. The NTA held session 2 of the JEE Main exam from 25 July to 30 July 2022.
How to Calculate JEE Main Rank 2022?
Candidates can follow this description to calculate their approx JEE Main rank of 2022.
Let us assume the total number of candidates who took part in the exam to be “N” and the NTA score to be “P.”
The Formula to calculate the JEE Main Rank from the percentile score is
=((100-P)/100)×N
There were two slots in the exam, which lasted four days. So 4 days × 2 slots = 8 total sessions.
JEE Main scorecard/results show the NTA score for each subject. It doesn’t show the subject-wise marks secured by the candidates. The authorities will calculate percentile scores upto 7 decimals. It will show against each of the subjects.

Important Information/Figures Need to Calculate the JEE Main Percentile into Rank
- NTA JEE Main score
- Total number of students on the exam
- Percentage of students equal to or below the candidate’s marks
- Number of students above the candidate’s marks
- Percentage of students above the candidate’s marks
Candidates should note that the percentile is not the same as the percentage. The authorities will prepare the JEE Main merit list on the basis of percentile score.
