Previously, the board has stated that there will be no extension to this deadline in an official notification. Thus, interested candidates can still apply before 5 PM on the official website, iimcat.ac.in. Furthermore, the board has advised candidates to first go through the eligibility criteria before applying.
Examination authorities will conduct the Common Admission Test is a computer-based testing mode, on 28 November 2021. There are more than 400 CAT locations across the country this year, alongside a new examination centre in Srinagar (Jammu + Kashmir). Moreover, there is an update to the assessment pattern, with the total number of questions reducing from 76 to 66 or 68.

- Then, select the “New Candidate Registration” link available on the home page.
- The website will then display a registration portal.
- Proceed by providing basic candidate details to generate a user ID and password.
- Afterwards, log in with the provided user credentials.
- Fill out the application form with the necessary details.
- Then, complete the registration fee payment process online with a credit card, debit card, or net banking.
- Finally, verify and submit the application form.

The Common Admission Test is an annual, national-level postgraduate entrance exam. IIM Ahmedabad conducts the test to facilitate MBA/PGDM admissions to participating B-schools across the country. The CAT will assess quantitative ability (QA), verbal ability and reading comprehension (VARC), and data interpretation and logical reasoning (DILR). Each section will feature a time limit of 40 minutes, with a total exam duration of 120 minutes.
