World-Class Infrastructure Facilities Offered by Kingston Educational Institute

The infrastructure of any college plays a vital role in the development of the college because while selecting a college, students are focussing on the laboratories, classroom design, auditoriums, campus area, etc. Only then a student gets hands-on experience with the latest technologies.

Kingston Educational Institute, established in the year 2004 in Barasat, Kolkata is a private ISO-certified institute that offers UGC-approved courses at UG, PG, and diploma levels. KEI has an e-learning-enabled campus of 28 acres, consisting of separate buildings for each college under its umbrella. It has six colleges namely Kingston Law College (KLC), Kingston College of Science (KCS), Kingston School of Management and Science (KSMS), Kingston Polytechnic College (KPC), Kingston Teacher’s Training College (KTTC) affiliated by the concerned authorities functioning under its name. 

An auxiliary campus is present for Kingston Law College while the remaining four institutes function from the main campus of KEI of Barasat adjacent to West Bengal State University. Kingston Model School also has a different campus where kids from preparatory to class 10 can get CISCE-accredited instruction.

The institute has two student-centric departments along with the industrial and institutional cell that is Anti-Ragging Cell and Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell that functions to maintain the decorum of KEI.

Books are KEI’s evergreen companion as there are seven digital libraries as the guiding source of innovation. There are more than 30,000 items which include fiction/ non-fiction, textbooks, curriculum guides, supplemental classroom materials, and educational media including CDs, DVDs, documentary videos, subscribed magazines, newspapers, and databases on all subject fields. The E-resources include journals, conference proceedings, reports, and a whole lot of materials catering to the academic requirements of the user. The digital library ensures potent searching and an enhanced catalog display.

KEI has four multi-purpose seminar halls, one in each of KTTC, KSMS, KPC, and KEI School, where intellectuals and professionals hold seminars and workshops to exchange ideas, thoughts, and perspectives. The seminar room has a capacity of about 200 students and is fully air-conditioned, improved with a holistic atmosphere, and equipped with digitized technology.

The whole campus is Wi-Fi equipped and has a high-speed internet connection, allowing students and employees to access the internet from anywhere. Students can connect to Wi-Fi in the classrooms and other locations, including the library, conference hall, and dormitories. All websites visited are checked regularly and have limited access.

KEI's laboratories are well-equipped, luxuriously decorated, and fully air-conditioned. All the laboratories are designed with ultra-modern facilities which is the prime appeal for students in the workshops and drawing labs. They are large and well-equipped to conduct lab experiments for pupils. The college has a computer lab that is well-equipped with the appropriate software. It includes Intel Pentium computers with the most recent configurations and a 24-hour Internet connection. All of the systems are linked to the internet through LAN with the administrator.

Hospitality/ hotel management students also reap benefits from the housekeeping lab that is built as a mock-up of a hotel suite room. Students are taught the various skills of room arrangement, bed making, cleaning equipment handling as they would get hired in a 5-star hotel or resort.

The school must provide cutting-edge, industrial-grade food production facilities for educating aspiring chefs and bakers. The lab provides basic and advanced food preparation, as well as expertise in large-scale cookery.

On-campus, there is a food & beverage training lab and restaurant for hospitality/ hotel management students. Table setup, serving, arrangement, bar management, cocktail preparations, and all other practical skills related to service & operations in the hospitality sector can be learnt by hospitality/ hotel management students.

KEI has e-learning enabled campus, as it has tied up with Microsoft Education to provide quality training to the students. Microsoft Teams aren’t limited to classroom collaboration but teachers can engage students in different ways with text, video, voice integrations, as well as with emojis, stickers, and GIFs. 

The college has its lush green playground, where regular sports & games like football, cricket, & badminton are conducted from time to time throughout the year. It has a facility for indoor games such as chess, table tennis, carrom board, etc.
