About the festival
Shivaji University is one of the most reputed colleges in Maharashtra and has about 270 collges affeliated to it. It aims at providing a stable and just educational platform for students across the country.The 32nd National Youth Festival was held at Shivaji University this year. Students from diffrent colleges across the country took part in the event. A variety of events were conducted at the festival, ranging from Cultural Rally and Classical Vocal Solo to Folk Orchestra and Tribal Dance.
Participation and organization
The event was an incredible success with an attendance of about 2000 students taking part in the festival. 26 committees were formed within the University to look after the different requirements for the participating students and their faculty members. The different committees formed were the welcoming committee,food committee, organising committee and administrative committee. The participants were hosted at the University hostel and guest houses. Special accomodation was provided to the outstation referees and judges . Prior to the National youth festival, five colleges from the east,west,south,north and central zone hosted the Zonal Youth festival.
The organization of the event was impeccable with all the events starting and ending on time . The different committees worked flawlessly and it was appreciated by the participating students, faculty members and dignitaries.
WINNERS
After a gruelling competition where top colleges from across the country battled out to be the ultimate winner, the overall and section wise champions were chosen.
Section -wise Champions
In the Music category, Guru Nanak University , Amritsar, bagged the first place.
Dance was won by Manipur University, Manipur.
Literary by Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj University, Nagpur.
Theatre by Dr.B.R.Ambedkar University , Aurangabad and
Fine Arts by University of Mumbai, Mumbai.
