Chapter 1: A Letter to God
Chapter 1 of "A Letter To God" is a story written by an author named G L Fuentes, recounts a farmer's deep faith in God. The story starts with the farmer named Lencho expecting rain to nourish his cornfield. Instead, he was hugely dependent on the rain to raise the crops, which in turn will give him huge profits.
His prayers were answered, the rainfall occurred. Unfortunately, the hailstorm followed the rainfall and destroyed his entire crop field. The sake of his family's livelihood was greatly affected at this point. The farmer's family had still not lost faith in the Almighty. Out of desperation, the farmer writes to God himself and sends a post via the post office.
Chapter 2: Nelson Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom
Nelson Mandela is a great political and moral leader of this era. In this chapter, the autobiography of Nelson Mandela, Long Walk to Freedom, chapters cover Mandela's speeches about various occasions of importance and events involving the freedom movements.
Chapter 3: Two Stories about Flying
The chapter has two different short stories about flying; His First Flight and Balck Aeroplane.
His First Flight
The story His First Flight by Liam O'Flaherty revolves around a young bird with a fear of flying. He has no belief in the strength of his wings and thinks that he might fall without any support. Even his young siblings had started flying by then with much shorter wings, how the worried mother of the bird helps him overcome his fear and makes him fly from the rest of the story.
Black Aeroplane
Black Aeroplane by Frederick Forsyth describes how one's judgment gets flawed due to fantasizing unnecessarily and how unwanted fantasy creates problems. In this story, the pilot is the narrator of the story, and he is eager to meet his family so that he can spend quality time together with them.
Chapter 4: From the Diary of Anne Frank
'Paper has more patience than people.' says Anneliese Marie "Anne" Frank, a German-born Jewish girl who wrote this when in hiding. The story is set before World War 2, during the Nazi era. Anne Frank, her family, and friends escape and go into hiding to avoid contact with German forces who could exterminate them or send them to concentration camps set by the Nazi forces.
Chapter 5: The Hundred Dresses - I
We judge people around us by the amount of money, wealth, and possessions they have acquired. As a result, we fail to appreciate the values and morals they possess.
This story, written by El Bsor Ester, revolves around a poor girl Wanda Petronski of Polish origin and the plight she faces due to her friends. However, an interesting turn of events makes her value outshine her difficulties.
Chapter 6: The Hundred Dresses - II
This chapter is the continuation of the story "A Hundred Dresses - I." Wanda was to be seen nowhere in the school. Wanda had not been present on the day that was destined to give her importance and respect among her classmates. Amidst her absence, Miss Mason received a circular from the Principal.
The circular contained the content of a letter sent by Wanda's father stating that they are moving out of the city and Wanda will not continue to study in this school anymore. The letter also mentioned how disturbed Wanda had been because of the mocking done by her classmates. The varied display of emotions of Maddie and how she feels for Wanda is described.

A Baker from Goa
Goa is the land of a mixed culture where many French, English, and Portuguese descendants are still present until this date. This chapter, "A Baker from Goa," was written by Lucio Rodrigues in which he describes how fond he was of a baker who baked lovely loaves of bread, adding a different taste and bringing out different loaves of bread.
Coorg
Coorg or Kodagu is heaven on Earth and lies midway between Mysore and the coastal town of Mangalore. It is recognized as the smallest district in Karnataka. This hilly place is home to evergreen rainforests, spices, and coffee plantations, and the author has portrayed a lovely depiction of Coorg.
Tea from Assam
Tea from Assam, written by Arup Kumar Dutta, tells about two young boys on a journey to Assam and its tea gardens. It also discusses the origin stories of tea and how it became a favourite drink to the rest of the world.
Chapter 8: Mijbil the Otter
The story is set in the 1950s, and the author was in Iraq. He had recently lost his pet dog, and he was thinking about getting a new pet. He told his friend that he would like to get an otter as a pet. The author receives a sack. To his surprise, the sack had an otter inside. The author named his pet Mijbil.
Soon the otter became friendly and got used to its surroundings. The author had to move to England and then to Camusfearna. The story broadens on the adventure of the author along with his pet otter.
Chapter 9: Madam Rides the Bus
"Madam Rides the Bus" is written by author Vallikannan. It is a story about how an eight-year-old girl travels to the town nearby and discovers many new experiences. She is awed by the wonderful sight while travelling on the bus. It was the adventure Valli was expecting.
Chapter 10: The Sermon at Benares
Chapter 10 tells us about the Journey of Gautama Buddha (563 B.C - 483 B.C), who lived the life of a prince who had no worries and was never exposed to any grievances or sufferings. The story also sheds light on Kisa Gautami, who was grieving over her son's death. She meets Gautama Buddha and requests the great saint to bring her son back alive.
Gautama accepts but on one condition, and she must bring a handful of mustard seeds from a house where no one has lost a child, husband, parent, or friend. She requested all the people available, and no house had not lost a loved one. She realizes that death is inevitable, and the life of mortals are always troubled.
Chapter 11: The Proposal
The drama "The Proposal'' was scripted and written by Anton Chekov. The drama is a story between Stepan Stephanovitch Chubukov, a landowner, his twenty-five-year-old daughter Natalya Stepanovna and Ivan Vassilevitch Lomov Chubukov's wealthy neighbour.

Chapter 1: A Triumph of Surgery
The story "Triumph of Surgery" revolves around Mrs Pumphrey, Tricky the dog, and Veterinary Doctor James Herriot. Mrs Pumphrey was a rich and sensitive woman who had a cute pet dog named Tricky. Mrs Pumphrey always overfed Tricky out love and affection without knowing the consequences of it. After a while, the dog had become fat and unhealthy. A worried Mrs Pumphrey took Tricky to the veterinary doctor, where the story begins and ends with Tricky's recovery.
Chapter 2: The Thief's Story
Anil was a young and talented writer who lived a carefree life. He wrote for magazines and earned money to live his life. A small boy who had been a thief all his life saw Anil at a wrestling match. He introduced himself with the fake name "Hari Singh" and used his flattery to convince Anil to take him up for some work. A convinced Anil takes him to his house to agree that he will provide food if Hari cooks food. What happens next contributes to the rest of the entire story written.
Chapter 3: The Midnight Visitor
The story consists of three main characters who are Ausable, Fowler, and Max. Ausable and Max are rival spies, and Fowler is a writer of mystery content. What happens in all the characters' travel contributes to the rest of the entire story written.
Chapter 4: A Question of Trust
The story "Question of Trust," written by Victor Canning, is about a thief who gets cheated by an unexpected person. A thief named Horace Danby has a unique characteristic where he steals only once a year. He is very fond of books and spends whatever he earned by stealing on books. He is a very cautious thief and plans carefully.
The thief plans to steal from a big house and carefully gather all information regarding the house and its safety but finally ends up in jail is what the story is about.
Chapter 5: Footprints Without Feet
The story "Footprints without Feet" was written by the author H.G.Wells. It is about a scientist who creates a potion that is capable of making a person invincible. The scientist drinks the potion, becomes invisible, and starts stealing clothes, money, etc.,
Chapter 6: The Making of a Scientist
The chapter is an article which is an exact account of a curious child who wanted to discover many things and end up as a scientist. Later he became a famous scientist after his paper on the working of cells published in a science journal. Ebright participated in many science exhibitions, not for the sake of winning but to complete a task to the best of his abilities.
Chapter 7: The Necklace
The story falls into the category of a short story that Guy De Maupassant writes. The story is set in France many years ago. It is Matilda Loisel and her husband who worked as a clerk in the Ministry of Education. They both live in a flat, and they lead a simple life. However, Matilda was not convinced and always unhappy. She was jealous of her friend, Jeanne, who was rich and owned a large house and jewellery. One fine day, Matilda's husband brings an invitation to a ball organized by the Minister.
Matilda was very unsatisfied and cringed to go to the ball, stating that she does not have any appropriate dress to wear. Finally, her husband gets a dress for her with the money he had saved to buy a rifle. However, she was still reluctant as she did not have good jewellery to wear and the dress, where the story begins, and they face some consequences where the rest of the story revolves around.
Chapter 8: The Hack Driver
The short story is about an innocent lawyer who goes to a village to serve a summons called Lutkins. When he reaches the railway station, he meets a person who claims his name to be Bill. The lawyer enquires about Lutkins as Bill seems to know a lot of people in the village.
He travels with the lawyer and dupes him along the way by looting a lot of money. They search for Lutkins for a long time but fail to find him. The next day, the lawyer and his colleague discover that Lutkins was dumping him, posing as Bill. The whole village laughs at the innocent lawyer.
Chapter 9: Bholi
The story was written by A.K. Abbas, revolves around a girl called Sulekha, who is nicknamed Bholi because of her lack of intelligence and beauty. Since she is not so likeable, she does not get proper attention from her family and gets neglected.
After she turns five years old, her father sends her to a school built recently because of the instruction given by the tehsildar. She befriended a kind-hearted teacher and accepted the teacher as her mentor, which gives her an immense confidence boost. Later she decided to work as a teacher in the same school she studied while receiving reassurance from her favourite teacher. The story details the reason and value of her decision.
Chapter 10: The Book That Saved the Earth
The story is written by Claire Boiko and is set in the 25th century, where the historian explains the story about the 20th century, which was the century of the books. He tells how a book saved the Earth from an invasion by the Martians.
