The JEE Main session 1 application process concluded, and the application correction window started from Dec 01, 2025, 11:55 PM. The last date to apply for the JEE Main 2026 exam was November 27, 2025.  The JEE Main registration form 2026 was released on the official website on October 31, 2025. JEE Main 2026 exam dates for session 1 and session 2 has been released by the authorities on Oct 19, 2025. The JEE Main session 1 will be held on Jan 21-30, 2026, and the session 2 exam will be held between Apr 1-10, 2026. To streamline the JEE Main application process further, NTA has released a notification on following the guidelines to upload the required documents such as Aadhar Card, UDID Card and category certificate. To streamline the process further, candidates are advised to upload the required documents in advance in the format given below:

• Aadhaar Card- Aadhaar Card should be updated with the correct name, date of birth (as per Class 10th certificate), latest photograph, address and father's name.
• UDID Card (for Persons with Disabilities)- UDID Card should be valid, updated and renewed as required.
• Category Certificate- The category certificate (EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL) should be updated and valid.

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2026

The JEE Main 2026 eligibility criteria will be released by the NTA along with the official notification. Given below is the JEE Main 2026 eligibility criteria based on the previous year's data:

JEE Main 2026 Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

The JEE Main 2026 exam will be conducted in online computer-based test (CBT) mode. The exam consists of two papers, is Paper 1 for B.E./B. Tech aspirants and Paper 2 (2A & 2B) for B.Arch and B.Planning aspirants.

Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech):

• Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics
• Total Questions: 90 (30 from each subject; candidates need to attempt 75)
• Marks: 300 (4 marks per correct answer)
• Marking Scheme: +4 for correct answer, -1 for incorrect MCQ, no negative marking for numerical value-based questions.
• Duration: 3 hours

Paper 2A (B.Arch):

• Subjects: Mathematics, Aptitude Test, Drawing Test
• Total Marks: 400

Paper 2B (B.Planning):

• Subjects: Mathematics, Aptitude Test, Planning-based questions

How Many Attempts Are Allowed for JEE Main 2026?

You can attempt the JEE Main exams 6 times for three consecutive years as the exam will be held in two sessions each year. You can choose to appear in either one session or both sessions. The following are the criteria you must consider:

• If you appear in both sessions, the best of the two scores will be considered for ranking.
• You can attempt JEE Main for three consecutive years after passing Class 12.
• You can attempt the exam for a maximum of six attempts in total (two per year for three years).
