It means the university’s admission has decided to assess your application alongside regular decision applicants.	Having your name on a waitlist means the university is interested in you but is not able to offer you a seat.
Deferred entry means the candidate has neither been accepted nor rejected.	In this situation, if other applicants do not wish to attend the program, you may be accepted.

• Prior to applying for a deferred intake, candidates must provide an acceptance letter from the Canadian institution for study permit extensions and applications.
• Deferred enrolment after submitting study permit application: 
• The officials will continue processing the study permit application if less than 150 days have elapsed since the planned start of the program. In this case, a new admission letter is not needed.
• Admission officials will request a new acceptance letter if more than 150 days have passed since the commencement of the program.
