Every year, prominent IIMs including IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, and IIM Kozhikode, maintain high CAT cutoffs (99+ percentile). For General/NC-OBC category students, the CAT cutoff percentile for top IIMs is about 98-100 percentile; for SC/ST/PwD category applicants, the cutoff is lower. For non-IIMs, the minimal CAT score is often 94 percentile. Tier 2 MBA universities often have CAT cutoffs of 70-80 percentile or higher, whereas Tier 3 MBA colleges have CAT cutoffs of 60-70 percentile or higher.

CAT 2025 results were out on December 24, 2025, and according to reports, the score for CAT 2025 slot 3 has been downscaled. However, the CAT 2025 cutoffs will be mostly unaffected. The CAT 2025 cut-offs are projected to be the same as last year. The institutes will set admission cut-offs based on CAT exam results and percentile trends.
