NIT Admission Process Brief Summary
The students who hope to gain admission to NITs must first clear the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) followed by a counselling session conducted by the JoSAA.
Candidates are also required to fill in their choice of NITs and courses while registering, and it is based on this and the students' performance that the seats are allotted.
JoSAA also releases the seat matrix of NITs, and students must regularly check to see whether seats are available for their admission.
After seats are allotted, candidates can either float, freeze, or withdraw their seats depending on how satisfied they are with them.
