SNAP Exam Dates

The Symbiosis International University (SIU) conducts the SNAP exam. Every year fifty thousand students appear for the exam for 2257 MBA seats. The exam is generally conducted in December month of every year. The official notification for 2019 is out and below in this article, we have discussed the details about the major events related to the exam.

The Symbiosis National Aptitude Test or SNAP Exam is the national level management entrance test conducted by the SIU. Symbiosis International University (SIU) conducts the SNAP Test every year to shortlist candidates for MBA programs offered by various institutes affiliated with it. MBA aspirants need to register for the SNAP entrance exam and then register with the Institute for the course they are interested in. SNAP is one of the most reputed management exams in India.

The exam schedule was released by SIU on the official website. The following dates that are given below for SNAP 2019 are authentic and candidates can rely on the data given below.

SNAP Eligibility

Eligibility for the SNAP Exam is the candidate should be a graduate from recognised university/institution. Candidate should have minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade. For Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes 45% marks or equivalent grade.

If the candidate from a foreign university has completed a qualifying degree, he/she must obtain an equivalence certificate from the (AIU) Association of Indian Universities. Candidate before obtaining admission to any programme of SIU all foreign degrees need to be verified from AIU.

SNAP Reservation Policy

The reservation policy for the admission to any programme in the Institutes of SIU (except Symbiosis Institutes of Management Studies, that has separate reservation policy) are listed below

  • SC - Scheduled Caste: 15%
  • ST - Scheduled Tribes: 7.5%
  • Differently Abled: 3%
  • Nagpur Domiciled: 25% (applicable only for SIBM, Nagpur)
  • Children/wards of Defence Personnel: 5% (applicable only for following Programmes of the Institute)

Nagpur Domiciled: The meaning of ‘Nagpur Domiciled’ is that the candidate who has resided in Nagpur over a period of five years as on the date of commencement of the academic year.

Defence Personnel: The term 'Defence Personnel' represents those who are serving/retired from either of Army, Navy, or Air Force. Retired defence personnel are those who fall in the category of ex-servicemen as laid down in Ministry of Defence letter no 36035/5/85- Estt (SCT) dated 14 April 1987. It includes defence personnel who passed away while in service or after retirement.

SNAP Application Form Dates

The candidates can register for the SNAP Exam on the official website. The application window is generally open for 3 months. The process of applying for the exam is completely online. Candidates should make sure that they check out the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam.

The three steps to apply for the SNAP 2019 Exam are:

  • Registration: Only online mode of registration is applicable. Candidates need to register on the official website to generate the registration number.
  • Filling of details and uploading the images: Upload your latest scanned colour passport size photo and ensure all the details you have filled are accurate.
  • Paying the application fee: The application fee INR 1750 + taxes is to be paid to complete the registration process. The application will be considered for the exam only after the exam fee is paid completely.

Be aware of the application deadline and make sure to submit it before the last date.

SNAP Admit Card Date

Candidates who have successfully registered for the SNAP exam will be allowed to download the admit card from the official website.

Candidates need to download the admit card from the official website and take printouts. This document will carry all the important details related to the test taker and examination. It is mandatory for all the candidates appearing for the exam to carry SNAP Admit Card to the centre, failing to do so will result in cancellation of candidature.

SNAP Exam Dates

SNAP exam is conducted in the online mode and has 4 sections that include General English, Quantitative and Data Interpretation, General Awareness and Analytical & Logical Reasoning. The national level exam will have two types of questions namely normal (MCQs) and special (fill in the blanks).

The candidates must reach their respective exam centres at least 90 minutes before the commencement of the exam to complete the verification process. They must carry two original copies of their SNAP 2019 admit card. The original and photocopy of a photo identity proof are also required to be produced for verification.

The conducting body SIU releases the answer key in a few days after the exam.

The SIU accepts objections on the answer key released by them. They consider the objections and then release a revised answer key. The final results of the candidates will be based on this revised answer key.

SNAP Results Date

The regulating body will release SNAP results on 10th January 2020. To access your SNAP result follow the below procedure,

  • Go to the official web portal of the exam
  • Click on the 'SNAP Test 2019' link present on the website
  • Enter your SNAP roll number and date of birth at the official website of SNAP exam
  • Your scorecard will be displayed on the screen
  • Download the scorecard and take a printout

Along with the results, SIU will also release the cut-off marks for SNAP Exam. Based on these cutoff marks, the candidates are shortlisted for further rounds of admission.

SNAP Selection Round Dates

Only the candidates who have secured more than the cutoff marks will be allowed to participate in the further processes of admission. These include the three rounds following the SNAP Exam, which are - Group Exercise (GE), Personal Interaction (PI) and Writing Ability Test (WAT).

It is mandatory to attend all the tests of GE-PIWAT to be eligible for admission into any PG programs. Only candidates who attend all the rounds of the selection process (GE-PIWAT) shall be considered as eligible for the generation of merit/ wait/ reject list.

SNAP Final Merit List Dates

After completing the selection rounds, SIU will release the final merit list that contains the list of candidates that are accepted for admission into the Symbiosis International University and its affiliated colleges.

The admission is provisional and will be confirmed on payment of fees on or before the due date. Also, the candidates are subject to fulfilment of eligibility conditions of the respective programme(s) and in accordance with the rules of the Symbiosis International Deemed University.
