The NSP full form is National Scholarship Portal (NSP). It is a software application where the students can check the different scholarships offered by the central government, state government, and the government agencies like UGC/AICTE. The Indian government launched the NSP portal under the NeGP (National e-Governance Plan).

The National Scholarship Portal 2021 follows a SMART system that is Simplified, Mission-Oriented, Accountable, Responsive, and Transparent. Over 91 lakh applicants have received more than INR 2,600 scholarship amounts through the NSP portal. The beneficiaries will directly receive the scholarship amount to their bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

NSP Portal 2.0 - Application Process

The candidates should check if their institutes are available on the NSP 2.0 portal before applying for the scholarships. If the institutes are not visible, the candidates can request their educational institution's nodal officer to register the institute on the NSP 2.0 portal. The candidates cannot edit the application form after making the final submission. Hence, they should carefully check the information provided before clicking on 'final submit'. The application process for the scholarships on NSP portal 2.0 are as follows:

Step 1 - Visit the official NSP 2.0 portal.

Step 2 - The candidates should click on the 'search institute' to find their respective institute.

Step 3 - Click on 'new registration'.

Step 4 - Candidates should read the instructions, tick the boxes, and click on 'continue'.

Step 5 - Fill in the registration form and click on 'register'.

Step 6 - Candidates will receive an application ID and password on their registered number.

Step 7 - Login using the application ID and password

Step 8 - Candidates should mandatorily change the password using the OTP sent to their registered mobile number.
