 About Post-Matric Scholarship for Minority Students in India

Post-Matric Scholarship for Minority Students in India:

  • The Ministry of Minority Affairs awards Post-Matric Scholarship for Minority Students. 
  • The scholarship amount is equivalent to admission and course/Tuition Fee and Maintenance allowance, subject to a maximum ceiling. 
  • The scholarship will be provided for the entire course. However, the maintenance allowance will be given for a period not exceeding 10 months only in an academic year. These scholarships will not be given to more than two students in a family.
  • The application deadline is 31 August 2017.
  • The scholarship is awarded for technical and vocational courses in Industrial Training Institutes/ Industrial Training Centers affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) of classes XI and XII level.
 Details

Eligibility:

  • The scholarship is to be awarded for studies in India in a government or private higher secondary school/college/university, including such residential institutes of the Government and eligible private institutes selected and notified in a transparent manner by the State Government/Union Territory Administration concerned.
  • It will also cover technical and vocational courses in Industrial Training Institutes/ Industrial Training Centres affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) of classes XI and XII level.
  • The category-wise scholarship breakup of Chandigarh, are as under:
    • Muslim - 92
    • Christian - 20
    • Sikh - 375
    • Buddhist - 03
    • Jain - 07
    • Parsi - 02

Total No. of Scholarship: 499

  • Duration: The scholarship will be provided for the entire course. However, the maintenance allowance will be given for a period not exceeding 10 months only in an academic year.
 Reward Description

Post-Matric Scholarship for Minority Students in India Rewards 2017:

The scholarship amount is equivalent to admission and course/Tuition Fee and Maintenance allowance, subject to a maximum ceiling.

Scholarship Amount and Duration:

Actual financial assistance will be provided for admission & course /tuition fee and maintenance allowance as given below subject to a maximum ceiling indicated against item concerned:

 Application Process

Post-Matric Scholarship for Minority Students in India Application:

  • The mode of applying is online.
  • The eligible candidates may apply through online on the website of common National Scholarship web portal of Govt. of India under URL www.scholarship.gov.in 
  • Applications are advised to take print-outs of the duly filled-in application forms, through National Scholarship web portal and to submit the same along with all supporting document (i.e. residence proof, annual fee receipt, last class pass certificate, Aadhaar No. bank account in the same of applicant, income proof, Minority Certificate/Affidavit) in their respective institute 
  • It will necessary for the applicants to provide Aadhaar number/Aadhaar Enrolment ID while applying for the scholarship
 Selection Process

Post-Matric Scholarship for Minority Students in India Selection Process:

  • Unlike scholarship for SC/ST, there are a fixed number of scholarships for minorities is small and limited.
  • Students from BPL families, having the lowest income shall be given preference in the ascending order.
