 About Newcastle University India Scholarships

Newcastle University India Scholarships is offered by the Newcastle University, UK, for students from India to pursue Undergraduate or Master’s degree programme. The scholarships have been offered for Indian students for many years. This announcement of scholarships builds relationships in a range of areas, including partnerships with universities and institutions, such as IIT-Delhi and IIT-Mumbai, corporate engagement, research collaboration, and alumni relations.

The University also offered the Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships and the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarships for the first time in 2018-19 entries to support the highly talented students from around the world, including India.

A total of 115 Indian students received international scholarships in the year 2018-2019. The University offers Scholarships for a wide range of subjects in the following disciplines:

  • Engineering
  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Mathematics and Sciences
  • Medical Sciences
  • Natural and Environmental Science
  • Physics
  • Undergraduate Music Courses

Newcastle University’s International students certified it with 93% satisfaction in their study. It has a high number of students across a number of categories, including expert lecturers (95%), learning support (94%) and quality lectures (90%). In addition to the scholarships schemes it offers, the University also participates in the Commonwealth and Chevening Scholarships schemes which are available to Indian applicants.

Along with the tuition fees and return fares, an approximate amount of living cost is also offered to the students in order to encourage them to pursue their education in the Newcastle University, UK.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Nationality: Candidate must be an Indian National and have been assessed as international for fees purposes.
  • Applications cannot be considered in advance of applicants meeting these two criteria.
  • Offer letter: Candidate must have a Conditional or Unconditional offer letter of an Undergraduate or Master’s degree programme at Newcastle city campus.
  • Academic Qualification: The candidate having an average of 60% or above in their Bachelor’s degree in the following disciplines:

    • Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, and Healthcare
    • Business and Accounting
    • Computing Science, Digital and Data
    • Culture, Heritage, Media, and Creative Arts

    • MBA
  • The University reserves the right to vary all or any scholarship awards and regulations at its sole discretion.
  • Students willing to pursue M.Phil, Doctoral studies, Postgraduate Certificate, and Postgraduate Diploma courses are not eligible for the awards. 
 Reward Description

Newcastle University India Scholarships Rewards:

  • The value of the scholarships shown below will be credited to the student’s tuition fee account to reduce the overall cost of tuition fees.
  • Each scholarship award will be tenable for the first year of study only.
  • The scholarships offered for 2019-20 entries includes thirteen 50% tuition fee discounts and two full tuition fee discounts as well as automatic partial tuition fee scholarships with a value of £1,500 to £5,000.
