 About CBSE Merit Scholarship for Single Girl Child (Class X)

The Central Board of Secondary Education CBSE invites the application from the single girl child, who is the single girl child of their parents, to help their parents by providing them with the fund for the further education. The CBSE Single Girl Child scholarship will be given to those who score a minimum 60% marks or 6.2 CGPA grades in 10th class and are further continuing their school education of 11th and 12th class. The girl child who born together is the Single Girl Child of their parents.


The scholarship shall be given on the basis of merit list as stated in Para 2 above, from the result of CBSE Class X Examination. The eligibility criteria shall be as under:

  • All Single Girl Students, who have secured 60% / 6.2 CGPA or more marks/grades in CBSE Class X Examination and are studying Class XI & XII in School (affiliated with CBSE) whose tuition fee is not more than Rs. 1,500/- p.m. during the academic year, shall be considered for the purpose.
  • In the next two years, the total enhancement in tuition fee in such school shall not be more than 10% of the tuition fee charged in the year 2016 – 2017.


  • NRI applicants of the Board are also eligible for the award. The tuition fee for the NRIs has been decided maximum of Rs. 6,000/- per month.
  • The scholarship shall be awarded to Indian Nationals only.
  • The student must continue her school studies in Class XI and XII in school as stated
  • Candidates who have passed CBSE Class X Examination in 2012 will be considered.
  • A Scholar under the scheme while availing scholarship can enjoy other concessions (s) given by the school in which she is studying other organization(s).
 Reward Description
  • The number of scholarships for a particular year shall be variable and shall to awarded to all such “Single Girl Students” who have secured 60% / 6.2 CGPA or more marks/grades in the CBSE Class X Examination in that year.
 Application Process
  • Submit the hard copy of online submitted application form duly signed by the girl student.
  • Submit the Online generated application form duly signed and stamped by the principal from where the candidate is practicing class 11.
  • Must submit the attested copy of Mark sheet of Class 10 -2017 issued by CBSE.
  • Submit an affidavit (in Hindi or English Language only) from the parent that the girl student is the only child of her parents as per prescribed language on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 10/- duly attested by the First class Judicial Magistrate/SDM/Executive Magistrate
  • Candidate should mention her bank name, account number, RTGS code (11 digits) alphanumeric & bank address.
  • A cancelled cheque of the bank account in which the amount is to be credited should also be submitted.
  • Candidates also need to submit the duly attested photocopy of bank passbook.
  • The envelope containing a printout of online application form and other relevant documents must reach the board on or before the due date.
  • The candidates can apply online for CBSE Merit Scholarship for Single Girl Child.
  • The girl student should register themselves by filling the necessary information in the online application form.
  • Then the student must take the print out of the online submitted application form and need to send with all the required documents in an envelope by mentioning “APPLICATION FOR MERIT SCHOLARSHIP FOR SGC X” on the below mentioned address by speed post.

 Selection Process
  • The student should have passed Class X Examination from the CBSE and secured 6.2 CGPA or more.
  • Pursuing Class XI & XII from CBSE affiliated Schools.
  • The student should be ONLY SINGLE GIRL CHILD of their parents.
  • Original Affidavit duly attested by the First Class Judicial Magistrate/SDM/Executive Magistrate, as per prescribed format available on the Board’s website
  • Photocopy of Affidavit will not be accepted.
  • The application form should be attested by the School Principal from where the student is pursuing Class XI after passing Class X from the Board’s Examination.
  • Tuition fee should not be more than Rs. 1,500/- per month in Class X and 10% enhancement for Class XI & XII.
