AAUW International Fellowship Contact Details

  • AAUW International Fellowships are awarded for full-time study or research in the United States to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
  • Both graduate and postgraduate studies at accredited U.S. institutions are supported.
  • At the time of applying for the fellowship, female candidates must have applied to their proposed institutions of study.
  • Till date, the AAUW International Fellowships have been awarded to more than 3,300 women from more than 130 nations.
  • Up to five International Fellowships for master’s/first professional degrees will be renewable for a second year.
  • A limited number of awards are available to GWI members for study or research in any country other than their own. 
  • Applicants must be conducting a full year of study or research. International Fellowships do not provide funding for a partial year of study or research.

AAUW International Fellowship Eligibility Criteria:

  • Students should intend to pursue a master’s or professional degree-level programs or medical degrees.
  • Doctoral fellowships are intended for doctorate degrees, such as Ph.D. or Ed.D.
  • The student should have received admission to any US university before applying for the Fellowship 
  • Term of the Fellowship: 1-year
 Reward Description

AAUW International Fellowship Rewards:

International Fellowship funds are available for:

  • Educational expenses
  • Living expenses
  • Dependent child care
  • Travel to professional meetings, conferences, or seminars, as long as it does not exceed 10% of the fellowship

 Application Process

AAUW International Fellowship Application Process:

  • Candidates have to apply Online at the official website.
  • Candidates have to provide three recommenders who are professors or professional colleagues. 

Enclosures to be uploaded:

  • Transcripts: Candidates have to upload official transcripts from the college or university where the highest degree was obtained
  • Proof of Bachelor’s degree
  • Proof of Doctorate degree
  • Official report of TOEFL test scores or waiver request 
  • Letter of admission
  • CV/ Resume
  • Narratives
  • Budget
 Selection Process

AAUW International Fellowship Selection Process:

  • The International Fellowships Panel shortlists the candidates who become the beneficiaries of the Fellowship.
  • Fellowships are awarded on a competitive basis according to funds available in a given fiscal year.
  • The following criteria apply to the selection of International Fellowships:
