Post Matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities

The key objective of the scholarship is to help the students with disabilities for their studies in class 11 to postgraduation and provide them an opportunity to make their livelihood and find a magnificent position for themselves in society.

Who can apply for this scholarship?

  • The applicant must have more than 40% disability certified by competent medical authority of the state government or UTs.

  • Should be studying in class 11 to postgraduation level from a recognized Board of Secondary Education or University

  • The annual income of the family should be lesser than INR 2.50 Lac including all the sources

Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities

The objective of this scholarship is to help students belonging to economically weaker section of the society by providing them with better higher education opportunities and thus to enhance their employability chances.

Who can apply for this scholarship?

  • The applicant must be studying in class 11, 12, Post/ graduate, Technical/ Vocational courses, Ph.D./ M.Phil.

  • The applicant must have scored at least 50% marks in the previous academic examination.

  • The annual income should be lesser than INR 2 Lac including all the sources of the family.

  • Must belong to the minority community such as Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Jain, or Parsi.

Merit Cum Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses

It is made available by Central Government to help poor and meritorious students belonging to minority communities pursue professional and technical courses. It is an initiative to provide equal opportunity to every citizen in building a vibrant nation.

Who can apply for this scholarship?

  • The applicant must belong to minority communities such as Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi (Zoroastrian) studying in India.

  • Students who get admission in technical/professional courses without taking any competitive examination or should have scored at least 50% marks in the previous academic examination.

  • The annual income should not be more than INR 2.50 Lac including all the source of the family.

Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students

It is executed by the Department of Higher Education since 2008 to help meritorious students with financial assistance in order to meet the day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher education.

Who can apply for this scholarship?

  • Candidate should have scored above 80% in the final examination of class XII

  • The annual income should be lesser than INR 6 Lac including all the sources of family

  • Not receiving any other scholarship

Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles (PMSS)

It was introduced in 2006 to assist dependent wards & widows of Central Armed Police Forces & Assam Rifles (CAPFs & AR) Personnel with higher technical and professional education.

Who can apply for this scholarship?

  • The candidate should be wards/widows of late CAPFs & AR personnel died in harness/election duty

  • Wards of personnel disabled due to any causes attributable to Government service.

  • Wards of Ex-CAPFs & AR personnel in receipt of Gallantry Awards.

  • Wards or widows of retired and serving CAPFs & AR Personnel.

  • Pursuing the professional degree programme in the field of Engineering, Medicine, Dental, Veterinary, BBA, BCA, B. Pharma, B.SC, MBA, MCA and so on.

  • The candidate should have scored at least 60% marks in 12th/ Diploma/ Graduation or equivalent.

National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of ST Students

It is formulated and funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to encourage the students who fall in the category of Scheduled Tribe to acquire higher education. It helps the eligible students to pursue M.Phil and Ph.D. Courses in Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences, and Technology.

Who can apply for this scholarship?

  • Candidate must belong to the ST category.

  • Candidate must have passed the Post-Graduation examination.

  • Candidate should have registered for regular and full-time M.Phil./Ph.D courses in University/Institute recognized by UGC.

Scholarships for Top Class Education for Students with Disabilities

It involves identifying and promoting quality education to the students with disabilities by full financial support for pursuing studies at the level of Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in any discipline.

Who can apply for this scholarship?

  • The candidate having 40% or more disability with the disability certificate issued by any competent medical authority.

  • Candidate must possess admission for a full-time course at the level of Post Graduate Degree/Diploma. Not applicable for distance-learning/part-time/weekend courses under any stream.

  • Candidate should not be receiving any other scholarship provided by the Government of India.

  • The annual income of the family should not exceed INR 6 Lac from all the sources.

  • Only the first two disabled children of the same parents will be eligible for the scholarship. It is exceptional in case the second/third children are twins.

Post-Matric Financial Assistance for Education of the Wards of Beedi/Cine/IOMC/LSDM Workers

The objective behind the initiative to provide education scholarship for the children of Beedi/Cine/IOMC/LSDM Workers is to ensure that no child is working in any hazardous sector. It is available to the students who are pursuing Class 11th to post-graduation/ diploma courses.

Who can apply for this scholarship?

  • Either one of the parents of the student must be a Beedi, Iron Ore Manganese & Chrome
    Ore Mines, Limestone & Dolomite Mines, Cine worker with at least six months service.

  • The total monthly income of the family should not exceed as under:

    • BeediWorkers - Rs.10,000/- per month.

    • Mine Workers - Rs.10,000/- per month.

    • Cine workers - Rs.8,000/- per month.

  • Candidate must have passed the qualifying examination in the first attempt.

  • The admission taken should be to an institution recognized by the Government for the full-time course. Correspondence/ distance learning students are not eligible.

  • Students who are already receiving scholarship or stipend from any other source are not eligible.

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY)

The scholarship is initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The objective is to assist the exceptionally highly motivated students financially in order to meet the expense of pursuing basic science courses and research career in science.

Eligibility Conditions

Stream SA

  • Candidate must have secured a minimum aggregate score of 75% in Mathematics and Science subjects in class 10th.
  • Candidate must be enrolled in class 11th (science subjects)
  • Candidate must join a UG course like BSc/SC/B.Math./B.Stat. /Int. MSc/Int. MS after securing a minimum aggregate score of 60% in Science subjects in class 12th.

Stream SX

  • Candidate must be enrolled in class 12th (science subjects) in the academic session.
  • Candidate must be joining an undergraduate degree programme in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics like BSc/SC/B.Math./B.Stat. /Int. MSc/Int. after securing at least 75% in Mathematics and Science in class 10th and 60% in Mathematics and Science in class 12th.

Stream SB

  • Candidate must be enrolled in the first year of UG programme in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics such as BSc /SC /B.Math /B.Stat /Int MSc/Int
  • Candidate must have scored at least 60% in Mathematics and Science in class 12th
  • Candidate must have scored at least 60% in the first-year final examination before taking up the scholarship.
